Job Description

As Design Director in the production and adaptation space, reporting to the Hub Design Director, you will lead a talented team of designers to create high-quality, compelling content for globally recognised brands. We are looking for someone with a combination of hands-on design skills and ensure creative excellence across several touch points, including static graphics, motion graphics, digital content, and social media.

You'll guide and support your team to adapt and localise content for different markets, ensuring that all assets are produced to the highest standard. You will also use AI tools like Pencil Pro to refine workflows and improve the adaptation process. Your role is important in ensuring the delivery of creative work that meets client needs while staying ahead of design trends.

Your Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a global design community, coordinating across multiple time zones and building a collaborative, thriving team.
• Regularly check in with designers, providing support and encouragement to ensure the team delivers their best work.
• Attend project reviews with the VP, Creative + to ensure the work meets the highest creative standards.
• Lead weekly design huddles and monthly motion design meet-ups to foster ongoing creative growth and collaboration.
• Participate in monthly meetings with the Creative and Experience Network to agree on design direction and trends.
• Guide innovation in both static and motion design, continuously evolving your skills and staying on top of new design trends.
• Foster a sense of community and collaboration among a diverse team of designers from around the world to create exceptional work.
• Work with high-profile global brands, consistently meeting creative standards and ensuring that the work aligns with brand values and vision.
• Produce high-quality design work, partnering, guiding and inspiring your team, ensuring all projects meet client needs.
• Ensure that the team follows creative briefs while encouraging them to push creative boundaries and enhance the work.
• Handle constructive feedback, revising and refining design solutions promptly.
• Passionately communicate your design ideas to your team, leadership, and clients, ensuring clarity and understanding of the design vision.
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects, maintaining high quality and efficiency even under tight deadlines.
• Qualifications:
• 8+ years of professional experience in a design leadership role, with a strong portfolio of work for top global beauty brands.
• Expertise in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects, with a deep understanding of graphic design, typography, and layout.
• Advanced motion design skills, with a drive to continuously improve your expertise in video editing and 3D animation.
• Proven track record of creating engaging content for social media, both static and motion, with a focus on digital trends.
• Strong experience in leading and inspiring international design teams, ensuring alignment and fostering creativity across diverse locations.
• Excellent visual storytelling skills, able to transform complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals that resonate with target audiences.
• Exceptional design skills, with a deep understanding of social media and paid media best practices, ensuring that designs are effective and impactful.
• A passion for design, art, and culture, with a keen eye for trends and the ability to spot new design directions.
• A team player with excellent communication skills, capable of presenting and receiving feedback constructively to improve design outcomes.
• Well-versed in managing high workloads, juggling multiple priorities, and delivering consistently high-quality results in a fast-paced agency environment.
• Familiarity with AI-driven tools like Pencil Pro to improve the design process and help produce high-quality assets quickly.
