Business Development Director

Whizz HR is hiring for BD Director for an agency in Mumbai :

Key Responsibilities

New Business & Revenue Growth

• Own and drive the agency’s new business pipeline and revenue targets
• Identify, prospect, and convert new clients across industries
• Lead pitch strategy, proposal development, and negotiations
• Close high-value retainer and project-based deals

Client & Account Growth

• Build long-term relationships with CXOs, Marketing Heads, and Decision Makers
• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across existing clients
• Work closely with Client Servicing and Strategy teams to ensure client satisfaction and retention

Strategy & Market Positioning

• Develop and execute the agency’s business development strategy
• Identify new markets, sectors, and service offerings
• Track competitor activity, market trends, and pricing benchmarks
• Represent the agency at industry events, networking forums, and conferences

Leadership & Team Collaboration

• Mentor and guide the Business Development / Sales team
• Align BD efforts with Creative, Strategy, and Operations teams
• Set clear KPIs, monitor performance, and drive accountability

Reporting & Forecasting

• Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports
• Track conversions, revenue, and ROI from BD initiatives
• Present growth reports and insights to leadership

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of experience in business development within an agency (Advertising / Digital / Creative / Events)
• Proven track record of closing large-value deals and retainers
• Strong understanding of agency services (Creative, Digital, Media, Branding, Events, etc.)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Strong industry network and relationship-building ability
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on execution mindset
