Management Trainee

About the Role

We are looking for a high-potential Management Trainee who will undergo structured exposure across key functions of the logistics and freight-forwarding business.

The role is designed for an ambitious, analytical and commercially oriented individual who wants to build a long-term career in international logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain and business management.

The selected candidate will work closely with senior management and gain hands-on exposure to operations, pricing, customer management, business development, finance and strategic projects.

During the first 12–18 months, the trainee may rotate through:

Operations → Pricing → Sales/Business Development → Key Accounts → Finance/MIS → Project Cargo → Strategy

The rotation structure will depend on business requirements and the individuals performance and interests.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Operations

• Understand end-to-end freight forwarding and logistics operations.
  
• Assist in managing ocean, air, road and project cargo movements.
  
• Coordinate with internal teams, overseas agents, shipping lines, transporters and customers.
  
• Track shipments and identify operational bottlenecks.
  
• Support process improvement and productivity initiatives.
  

2. Commercial & Business Development

• Assist the sales and commercial teams in preparing quotations and tenders.
  
• Analyse customer requirements and develop logistics solutions.
  
• Support market research, competitor analysis and identification of new business opportunities.
  
• Participate in customer meetings and business reviews.
  
• Prepare business proposals, presentations and commercial analyses.
  

3. Data & Analytics

• Analyse revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, shipment volumes and customer profitability.
  
• Prepare MIS and management reports.
  
• Identify trends and opportunities from operational and commercial data.
  
• Develop dashboards and reports using Excel/BI tools.
  

4. Strategic Projects

• Work directly with senior management on selected strategic initiatives.
  
• Support new market entry, product development and network expansion projects.
  
• Evaluate potential customers, partners and vendors.
  
• Assist in implementing new technology and automation initiatives.
  
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare management presentations.
  

5. Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Develop an understanding of key customer requirements.
  
• Support key account management activities.
  
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
  
• Participate in customer reviews and performance discussions.
  

Requirements

Educational Qualification

Preferred:

• MBA / PGDM – Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Marketing or General Management
  
• B.Tech / B.E.
  
• B.Com / BBA / equivalent
