Your Future Role  

As a Trade Finance / Guarantee Professional (f/m/d), you will take ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of trade finance instruments in India, including Bank Guarantees, Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, Surety Bonds, and related instruments. You will work closely with local business teams, banks, and headquarters stakeholders to ensure smooth issuance, amendment, tracking, compliance, and closure of all trade finance transactions.

You will serve Innomotics in a double role: Being part of Innomotics’ global guarantee governance team, you manage all trade finance / guarantee related aspects focusing on India. In addition, you report to the Regional Treasury Head (Hub AA) supporting him in selected treasury activities such as cash visibility, working capital support, Forex / commodity hedge exposure, bank interaction, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact in India for business units, financial institutions, and HQ stakeholders on all trade finance matters.
• Manage the full process lifecycle for trade finance instruments, from request intake and validation through issuance, amendment, monitoring, and closure.
• Review and prepare Bank Guarantees, Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, Surety Bonds requests, supporting documentation, and bank-specific formats in line with business requirements.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain all necessary approvals, vetting of formats and supporting documents, and clarifications in a timely manner.
• Submit issuance and amendment requests to banks via banking portals, email, SWIFT-related channels, or other approved communication methods, and follow through until completion and confirmation.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, bank requirements, and applicable local and international trade finance regulations.
• Monitor validity, expiry, renewal, and return/closure status of trade instruments; maintain accurate registers and proactively escalate upcoming renewals, claims, or risk items.
• Liaise with banks and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, claims, document issues, and payment-related matters efficiently.
• Prepare and maintain regular reports, dashboards, and status updates for local management and HQ, ensuring visibility of outstanding instruments, exposure, deadlines, and operational risks.
• Be active member of the global guarantee governance team, i.e. collaborate closely with the other team members as well as HQ Treasury and other global stakeholders to align processes, reporting standards, and governance requirements.
• Support the Regional Treasury Head with cash and liquidity reporting, working capital-related activities, trade-related reconciliations, Forex and Commodity Hedge banking topics, and ad hoc treasury projects.
• Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation across trade finance operations and reporting worldwide. 

Your Profile  

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law or a related field. A professional qualification such as CA, ICWA, CS, or MBA would be an advantage.
• >5-8 years of hands-on experience in trade finance operations in India with strong practical experience working with Indian banks, bank portals, trade finance documentation, and within global treasury teams.
• Good understanding of relevant trade finance rules and practices, including UCP 600, URC 522, URDG, Indian legal requirements and applicable FEMA/RBI regulations related to import/export transactions.
• Strong experience with MS Office, reporting, and data handling; familiarity with SAP, ERP platforms, or treasury systems is an advantage.
• Persuasive communication, networking and stakeholder management skills, paired with high commitment and resilience in dynamic environments
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration, with a proactive, solution-oriented approach that extends beyond the assigned scope
• Demonstrated analytical and conceptual thinking, with the ability to structure complex problems and translate insights into action.
• Openness and curiosity for new areas, such as treasury, pensions, and insurance, ensuring success and effectiveness of our small and agile global treasury team at Innomotics
