Job Description
- Source and procure certified
diamonds as per quality, size, shape and budget requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong
relationships with diamond suppliers, manufacturers and dealers.
- Evaluate diamonds based on the
4Cs – Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat, along with certification and overall
make.
- Review and verify diamond
certificates from grading laboratories.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and
procurement conditions with suppliers.
- Monitor daily diamond market
prices, availability and market trends.
- Coordinate with internal sales,
merchandising and inventory teams to understand buying requirements.
- Inspect and assess diamonds
before purchase and ensure they meet defined quality standards.
- Maintain supplier databases,
purchase records and diamond procurement documentation.
- Identify new and reliable
suppliers to strengthen the companys sourcing network.
- Ensure timely procurement and
availability of diamonds as per business requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in diamond
buying, sourcing or procurement.
- GIA Certification Course
- Strong knowledge of certified
diamonds and diamond grading parameters.
- Excellent understanding of 4Cs of Diamond
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of GIA and
other reputed diamond certification reports.
- Strong knowledge of diamond pricing, market trends and supplier networks.
- Strong analytical ability to
compare diamonds on quality and commercial parameters.
- Existing contacts within the
diamond trading/manufacturing ecosystem will be an advantage.
