The Associate SaaS Operations Engineer is responsible for the successful day-to-day operation of Cotivitis SaaS services. The role involves coordinating and communicating activity across SaaS operations — including infrastructure maintenance and upgrades, customer-facing incident and service request management, SLA tracking, and new customer onboarding and provisioning. You will also contribute to developing tools and processes that support customer communication across all aspects of their SaaS experience.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can handle interruptions and shifting priorities, brings strong customer service skills, and has genuine enthusiasm for learning new technologies. You will lead from the front as an advocate for Cotivitis SaaS customers — working through complex production issues alongside engineering, operations, and customer teams. The role is approximately 70% operational (customer service, technical troubleshooting, functional support) and 30% development and maintenance of tools and processes.
Responsibilities
Experience and background
1–3 years of experience in cloud operations, application support, SaaS operations, DevOps, or a related technical role; internship or academic project experience in cloud or infrastructure is accepted.
Demonstrated enthusiasm for cloud operations, SaaS platforms, and automation through work experience, personal projects, or academic coursework.
Cloud and infrastructure
Basic working knowledge of public cloud services and operations — AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch), Azure, or equivalent; hands-on experience or cloud coursework strongly preferred.
Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, or similar).
Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts and containerisation (Docker); awareness of ArgoCD or GitOps deployment patterns is a plus.
Operating systems and application knowledge
Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems — understanding how services, processes, networking, and storage function for effective troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Java-based applications and web applications — understanding how they are deployed and how they behave in a server environment.
Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or Shell — able to read, modify, and write scripts to automate operational workflows.
Familiarity with relational databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, or equivalent).
Basic networking knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing concepts) is a plus.
Observability and monitoring
Exposure to monitoring and observability platforms — Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, SolarWinds, or PagerDuty. Ability to read dashboards and understand alert concepts.
Methodology, tools, and domain knowledge
Familiarity with Agile/sprint delivery; comfort using Jira for task and sprint management.
Familiarity with Edifecs products (XE/XES, XESM, Smart Trading) or healthcare EDI/FHIR platforms is a strong advantage.
Awareness of HIPAA compliance and HITRUST CSF in a healthcare technology environment is a plus.
Exposure to cloud or application security tooling (Wiz, Veracode, DAST) is an added advantage.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a 24x7 on-call environment.
