To manage and execute all phases of hybrid seed corn production across a designated territory, ensuring high-quality, timely, and cost-effective delivery of seed volumes while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution:
Organize and deliver targeted seed production volumes with standard quality parameters.
Plan and coordinate field-level operations including planting, detasseling, pollination, harvest, and post-harvest activities.
Contract seed production acres with growers and ensure optimal crop placement strategies.
Grower Relations & Training:
Identify and engage grower leaders and suitable villages for seed production.
Educate and train growers and field staff on best agronomic practices and quality standards.
Maintain strong relationships with growers and ensure timely payments and support.
Quality & Compliance:
Implement quality systems and procedures to ensure seed quality.
Monitor crop stages, pest and disease management, and irrigation practices.
Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) standards and CSR initiatives.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
Lead and manage field teams including agronomists, NFTEs (Non-Farm Technical Experts), and seasonal workers.
Coordinate with internal teams such as Quality Assurance, Seed Production Research, and Plant Operations.
Reporting & Analysis:
Submit timely field data and reports.
Conduct post-season yield analysis using GIS tools.
Collect market intelligence and monitor competitor activities.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
B.Sc./M.Sc. in Agriculture, Agronomy, Seed Science & Technology, Plant Breeding, or related fields.
Experience:
3–5 years in field corn seed production.
Experience in hybrid seed corn agronomy and rural engagement.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of maize crop management, pest control, and agricultural inputs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and SAP systems.
Leadership & Personal Attributes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage field operations independently.
Results-oriented, customer-focused, and innovative mindset.
