About The Role
The Senior Financial Reporting Specialist will support financial reporting processes, ensure compliance with IFRS, and contribute to the enhancement of financial systems and data integrity across the organization. The role works closely with Finance, Engineering, and Data teams to support scalable and automated reporting within a fast-paced eCommerce environment.
What Youll Do?
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including statement of financial position, profit or loss, cash flows, and changes in equity
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation process across the group
Ensure accurate elimination of inter-company transactions and balances, including unrealized profits, inter-company loans, and intra-group revenue streams
Prepare and post group-level adjustments and other consolidation-related entries in line with IFRS and group reporting requirements
Coordinate with finance teams across subsidiaries to ensure standardized reporting packs and timelines
Own and maintain the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close checklists, ensuring they are regularly updated, properly followed by the accounting and finance teams, and that close entries and activities are recorded accurately and on time
Review and validate foreign currency translation adjustments (CTA) under IAS 21
Support audit requirements by preparing consolidation workings, reconciliations, and audit-ready documentation
Assist in audit coordination with external auditors, including audit schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and resolution of audit queries and technical accounting issues
Draft and maintain accounting policies, technical papers, and reporting guidance across relevant accounting topics
Prepare technical accounting memos for key transactions and reporting matters
Financial Systems & ERP
Act as a key finance user for ERP systems such as Oracle NetSuite or SAP
Drive system enhancements, automation, and process optimization
Ensure proper mapping of chart of accounts and financial data flows
Support implementation and configuration of finance-related modules
Data Analytics & Business Insights
Extract, analyze, and validate financial and operational data
Build automated dashboards and reports using Excel and BI tools
Support revenue analytics and reporting across the business
Process Improvement & Control
Design, implement, and continuously enhance Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) aligned with IFRS and leading practices
Establish and document key controls across financial cycles, including preventive and detective controls
Perform risk assessments to identify control gaps and support remediation plans with clear ownership and timelines
Support periodic controls testing, walkthroughs, and self-assessments to ensure readiness for internal and external audits
Coordinate with auditors to address control deficiencies and support timely closure of remediation actions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Engineering for system integrations and tracking of finance-related developments
Work closely with Product teams on revenue logic and relevant features
Collaborate with Legal and Tax teams on contracts and compliance matters
Translate business requirements into accounting and reporting treatment
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (mandatory)
Professional certification required: CA, ACCA, or CPA (active/fully qualified)
Minimum 5-8+ years of experience in financial reporting within an IFRS-compliant environment
Proven experience working in either:
Big 4 audit firms, or
Large technology or eCommerce companies
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including: Financial modelling, Automation of reports and templates
Experience using ERP systems (NetSuite, Zoho, or similar) for financial reporting and operations
Exposure to data tools (SQL, BI tools such as Power BI/Tableau) is considered a strong advantage
Strong working knowledge of IFRS standards, including: Financial statement preparation
Soft Skills:
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in financial reporting tasks
Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Strong communication skills, with ability to present financial insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting output
