Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Job Summary

The Toolmaker will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing tools, dies, moulds, jigs, and fixtures used in production. The role requires hands-on experience in tool room operations and the ability to work with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and moulds as per drawings.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
• Operate conventional machines such as Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, and Drilling machines.
• Support tool trials, modifications, and continuous improvement activities.
• Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure tool life and performance.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues during production.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain 5S standards in the tool room.
• Maintain tool-related documentation and records.
  
  

• Sound knowledge of tooling processes and materials.
• Ability to read and understand 2D drawings and basic GD&T.
• Hands-on experience with tool room measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  
  

• Diploma in Tool & Die Making or Mechanical Engineering.
  
  

• 2–3 years of experience in tooling or manufacturing environment
