KEY PURPOSE OF THE JOB (POSITION SUMMARY)

To manage procurement function so as to keep stock turn under stipulated level and also achieve desired stock availability with optimization of total procurement costs.

KEY RESULT AREAS

To plan stock led by Sales and Operations Planning to minimize stock-outs
To maintain stock turns of Product categories including New verticals
To develop the Purchase team both in scalability and Quality
To initiate major IT driven projects for automations
To develop strong cross functional relationships with various stockholders both External and internal and key suppliers
To understand Market and products to synergize with function
 

Below listed are the tasks and responsibilities specific to your position.

STRATEGIC

• To plan stock led by Sales and Operations Planning to minimize stock-outs
• To maintain stock turns of Product categories including New verticals
• To develop the Purchase team both in scalability and Quality
• To initiate major IT driven projects for automations
• To develop strong cross functional relationships with various stockholders both External and internal and key suppliers
• To understand Market and products to synergize with function

OPERATIONAL

• To contribute towards Periodical Supplier Assessments based on required parameters especially for new suppliers.
• To develop a back- up plan in case of sudden and foreseeable future stock outs and smart decision making process to address the same, backed by necessary commercial analysis.
• To have SAP based procurement background to handle smooth SAP transition and optimize the SAP features in Purchase Function – Purchase Planning (PP) Module in SAP.
• To develop checklist and control mechanism to ensure initiation, tracking, escalation and timely closure of various sub-processes in Purchase function.
• To monitor and correct process lapses. To develop stronger internal checks and balances in Purchase Function in line with the substantial increase in volume and value.
• Complete understanding of the Products and functionalities – BOMs, child articles, new product introductions etc. to channelize the knowledge towards efficient purchase function.
• Analyse and Optimize the turnaround time and freight costs of the inbound materials from different geographies.
• Thorough understanding of Free Trade Warehouse Zones (FTWZ) activities, EPCG transactions, High Sea sales and similar kind of specialized transactions.

• To maintain cordial relationship and partnering with other cross functional teams like Product Management, Sales, OPD, Accounts Payables etc. – with a proactive, understanding, solution oriented approach.
• To foster positive and motivational/ cooperative culture both among internal team members (in Purchase & Other functions) and external stakeholders.
• To bring in competitive improvements in logistics of the inbound materials, turnaround time and the freight costs.
