Aptean is seeking an experienced Professional Services Manager to own and lead all customer implementation engagements for our Enterprise Data Insights product. This role is accountable for the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from customer kickoff through go-live and transition to support, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will lead a cross-functional delivery team comprising functional consultants, technical consultants/developers, and project managers, and will act as the primary escalation point for customers and internal stakeholders related to delivery execution for the product line.
About The Role
- Lead a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality services that meet customer needs and business objectives.
- Take ownership of service delivery, ensuring on-time execution and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Act as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for customers, fostering strong relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
- Work closely with the leaders in Professional Services to transform and innovate our delivery model, enhancing efficiency and time-to-value for our clients.
- Utilise data-driven decision-making and implement effective management practices to drive continuous improvement and achieve business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Leadership & Execution
- Own the successful delivery of all Professional Services implementation projects for Aptean’s Enterprise Data Insights Product.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle, including kickoff, requirements, design, configuration/customization, testing, training, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Ensure projects meet contractual commitments related to scope, budget, timelines, and quality.
- Serve as the senior delivery escalation point for customer and internal project issues.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of consultants, developers, and project managers aligned to the product line.
- Ensure appropriate staffing, skill alignment, and workload balancing across active engagements.
- Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and drive continuous improvement in delivery capability.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong executive-level relationships with customers and act as a trusted delivery advisor.
- Partner with Sales, Pre-Sales, Product Management, Support, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless customer experience.
- Participate in project governance meetings and executive steering committees as needed.
- Manage customer expectations and proactively address risks, issues, and change requests.
Financial & Commercial Accountability
- Own delivery P&L for the product line, including revenue recognition, margin targets, and cost control.
- Track project financials such as billable utilization, burn rate, and forecast vs. actuals.
- Review and approve change orders and scope adjustments in collaboration with Sales and Legal.
- Provide accurate delivery forecasts and performance reporting to senior leadership.
Process, Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Define, implement, and enforce standardized delivery methodologies, best practices, and quality gates.
- Ensure compliance with internal delivery processes and governance models.
- Partner with Product Management to provide feedback from implementations to influence product roadmap.
- Drive post-implementation reviews and incorporate lessons learned into future engagements.
Work Experience
7-10 Years
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
- 7+ years of industry experience in Data Management practices and methodologies.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of ‘Data-As-A-Service’ framework.
- 3+ years in a leadership role managing multi-project delivery teams.
- Proven experience leading Professional Services organisations, with a focus on achieving profitable growth and operational excellence.
- Strong background in software system implementation, particularly in ERP and/or Manufacturing software projects.
- A track record of building and managing high-performance teams, with a commitment to talent development and retention.
- Purpose-driven, with strong business acumen and a talent for data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to a range of stakeholders.
