The Testing Pod exists to make sure nothing goes live anywhere in Payment Operations broken, and nothing stays broken for long. This role owns end-to-end testing across the full scope of Payment Operations — payout, processing, gateways, reconciliation, and any other system or product change — before and during go-live; represents Operations in system/product development discussions with IT and PMO; and picks up recurring or unresolved issues from the Processing team and Payout team, driving them to a development-backed fix rather than a workaround. All testing, development requests, and issue resolutions run through a single tracker owned by this role, giving management one place to see status across all of Payment Operations at any time.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end testing for every new product, corridor, partner/gateway change, and system release across Payment Operations — not limited to any single function
Design and execute test cases covering normal flow, edge cases, failure scenarios, and rollback conditions — not just the happy path
Validate that a change performs as expected in a live-like environment before sign-off; block go-live where testing is incomplete or results are unclear
Conduct post-go-live monitoring for a defined stabilization period to catch issues that only surface at volume
Maintain a standard testing checklist/SOP per change type (payout, processing, gateway, reconciliation, etc.) so testing is consistent and repeatable across the pod, not dependent on one person's memory
Act as the single Operations-side counterpart to IT and PMO for all system development and product build discussions across Payment Operations
Review requirements and technical specs for new development from an operational-feasibility lens before build starts, regardless of which team within Operations raised the need
Raise, prioritize, and follow up on development tickets (DEV tickets) with IT/PMO on behalf of the Processing team and Payout team
Attend UAT/release cycles, sign off on Operations' behalf, and ensure fixes are verified — not just marked closed by IT
Serve as the intake point for recurring or unresolved issues escalated by the Processing team and Payout team
Diagnose whether an issue is a one-off, a process gap, or a system defect, and route it accordingly
Own the resolution path end-to-end for issues requiring a development fix — from ticket raised to fix tested and confirmed closed with the reporting team
Feed recurring issue patterns back into the testing checklist so the same defect can't reach production twice
Maintain a single tracker covering all testing activity, development requests, and issue resolutions — status, owner, age, and next action for each item
Share a status update on open items with the Team Lead on a defined cadence
Flag items at risk of missing a go-live date or SLA well before they breach, with a clear reason and required action
Maintain version-controlled records of test cases, sign-offs, and known issues for audit and handover purposes
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a related field
1–2 years of experience in QA/testing, product/business analysis, or payout/payment operations; prior exposure to UAT cycles is a strong plus
Comfortable reading requirements/specs and translating them into concrete test scenarios
Structured and detail-oriented — able to run a checklist without skipping steps under time pressure
Confident coordinating with IT/PMO and holding a position on go/no-go when testing isn't complete
