Role Purpose

Under the supervision of the Nutrition Specialist, Lahore and Islamabad, the Knowledge Management Officer will coordinate and support knowledge and information management for nutrition programmes, with a specific focus on emergency nutrition and the DHR-funded Scaling Life-Saving Nutrition for Women and Children project, ensuring timely documentation, analysis, and dissemination of programme information.

Functions / Key Results Expected

  • Strengthen knowledge management for nutrition programmes
  • Keep the nutrition team and partners informed on emerging evidence, guidelines, programme learning and relevant knowledge resources.
  • Support preparation of programme reports, briefs, presentations, meeting notes, case studies, human-interest stories and other knowledge products as required.
  • Document lessons learned, implementation updates and good practices from emergency nutrition, BNP and other nutrition interventions in Punjab.
  • Support effective information sharing with UNICEF sections, government counterparts, Nutrition Working Group partners and relevant coordination platforms.
  • Support emergency nutrition knowledge and information management
  • Provide knowledge management and reporting support for emergency nutrition response activities, including consolidation of progress updates, situation inputs and key results.
  • Maintain organized records of emergency nutrition activities, partner updates, field monitoring findings, meetings and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate with programme, PMER and field teams to ensure timely availability of quality information for emergency response planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • Support data quality, analysis and use for programme learning
  • Compile, review and organize programme data and information received from UNICEF teams, government counterparts and partners to support reporting and evidence generation.
  • Support development of dashboards, summaries, maps, progress trackers and other user-friendly knowledge products to inform programme decisions.
  • Contribute to improving data quality by identifying gaps, inconsistencies and follow-up actions in coordination with relevant focal persons.
  • Support DHIS-2, ENR and related digital information systems
  • Provide coordination and knowledge management support for DHIS-2 nutrition module integration and expansion, including documentation of progress, issues and decisions.
  • Support information flow and coordination related to ENR integration and other nutrition digitalization efforts, in close collaboration with UNICEF and government focal persons.
  • Contribute to capacity-building materials, orientation notes and simple guidance documents for improved use of nutrition information systems.
  • Provide knowledge and information management support for the DHR-funded Scaling Life-Saving Nutrition for Women and Children project
  • Support grant-wise tracking, documentation and reporting of DHR-funded activities under Output 2, in coordination with nutrition specialist and relevant programme colleagues.
  • Compile and maintain project records, deliverables, monitoring updates, knowledge products and evidence required for donor reporting and internal reviews.
  • Support preparation of donor updates, SitReps, progress summaries, success stories and learning notes related to the DHR-funded project.
  • Ensure information management support is aligned with agreed project outputs, indicators, reporting timelines and quality standards.
  • Coordinate reporting, documentation and partner information sharing for DHR-funded and related nutrition interventions
  • Maintain regular coordination with UNICEF programme teams, PMER, government focal persons and partners to gather and verify information required for timely reporting.
  • Support preparation and follow-up of coordination meetings, including agendas, minutes, action trackers and key documentation related to DHR-funded activities and other nutrition priorities.
  • Develop and maintain organized electronic folders, trackers and documentation systems to ensure easy retrieval of programme information, evidence and knowledge products.
  • Contribute to cross-learning between emergency nutrition, BNP, DHIS-2/ENR integration and other Nutrition Section priorities in Punjab.

Education Requirements

Required

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Desired

  • PRINCE2 certification.
  • ITIL certification.

Required

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years (with Master's) or 4 years (with Bachelor's) of professional experience managing health and/or nutrition information systems.

Desired

  • Experience within the United Nations system or a comparable international organization.
  • Knowledge and experience in local context and the District Health Information System (DHIS).
  • Knowledge in systems and processes for planning and monitoring in humanitarian or development contexts
