The Store Manager is responsible for the overall performance and daily operations of the retail fashion store, including sales, customer service, merchandising, and team management. This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive business results while creating an exceptional shopping experience and developing a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Performance
Drive store sales and profitability to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
Analyze sales reports, KPIs, and market trends to identify opportunities and develop action plans
Manage store budget, control expenses, and optimize labor costs while maintaining service standards
Implement promotional strategies and marketing initiatives to increase foot traffic and conversion rates
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, hire, train, and develop a team of sales associates and assistant managers
Create work schedules that balance business needs with team availability
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and implement development plans
Foster a positive, motivated work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability
Lead by example in demonstrating brand values and exceptional customer service
Customer Experience
Ensure every customer receives outstanding service that reflects brand standards
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally and efficiently
Build lasting relationships with customers to encourage loyalty and repeat business
Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance the shopping experience
Visual Merchandising & Store Operations
Maintain visual merchandising standards according to brand guidelines and seasonal directives
Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and minimize shrinkage
Process shipments, transfers, and markdowns in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and loss prevention protocols
Administrative Duties
Open and close the store according to established procedures
Maintain accurate records including sales reports, timekeeping, and cash handling documentation
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and employment regulations
Coordinate with corporate and district management on initiatives and communications
Qualifications
Required:
3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably in fashion or apparel
Proven track record of achieving sales goals and driving business results
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and retail management software
