The Director, Risk Management Leader – India serves as the senior India‑based leader for the Office of Risk Management (ORM), providing governance, oversight, and execution leadership for firm risk management activities within India. This role operates as the ORM liaison to the India board regarding India risk and related risk management activities. The role will report to the Enterprise Risk Operations Leader of the U.S. Office of Risk Management Leadership and a responsibility for close coordination and reporting of certain activities to the India Leader.
The role is responsible for advancing enterprise risk management, engagement risk oversight, independence and compliance support, emerging risk monitoring, and ORM operational execution, in close coordination with U.S. ORM leadership. The position establishes strong tone at the top, risk discipline, and quality consistency across India‑based ORM support activities.
Essential Duties
Enterprise & Engagement Risk Oversight
- Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of the firm’s enterprise risk management framework within India
- Provide coordination with India leadership for senior‑level oversight and escalation support
- Serve as a technical and judgmental escalation point for complex or high‑risk matters, in coordination with U.S. ORM leadership
- Collaborate with Office of General Counsel in India regarding regulatory and compliance frameworks for similarly situated India entities
Policy, Governance & Quality Frameworks
- Lead development, maintenance, and operationalization of risk management policies, standards, and procedures based on India laws and regulations or US policies aligned with India-specific requirements
- Ensure consistent application of ORM guidance across India‑supported activities
- Align ORM practices with firm regulatory appetite and tolerance expectations
Risk Identification & Advisory
- Lead in the develop of compliance and risk register, including assessing and monitoring risks
- Provide risk‑informed insights and recommendations to U.S. ORM and firm leadership
- Coordinate with US ORM Leadership on emerging risks and translate emerging risk themes into actionable ORM guidance and controls
- Coordinate remediation planning, execution tracking, and root‑cause analysis related to risk management findings
Training, Awareness & Communication
- Lead development and delivery of India-specific ORM training and awareness programs
- Promote consistent understanding of risk expectations, professional judgment, and escalation protocols
- Reinforce firm risk culture and accountability
Leadership & Team Development
- Build, lead, and mentor the India‑based ORM team
- Establish strong tone at the top for risk awareness, integrity, and quality
- Develop future risk leaders and succession pipelines

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or related field (required)
- CPA, CA, JD, or equivalent professional credential (strongly preferred)
Technical/Soft Skills
- Deep understanding of professional services risk frameworks and quality control systems
- Strong professional judgment and ability to evaluate complex, ambiguous risk matters
- Ability to translate technical risk concepts into practical, operational guidance
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in professional services risk management, compliance, or related leadership roles (required)
- Demonstrated experience working in or supporting U.S.-regulated professional services environments (required)
- Experience leading large, cross‑border or multinational teams (required)
Leadership Skills
- Strong executive presence, communication style and credibility with senior leadership
- High degree of integrity, independence, and professional skepticism
- Proven ability to foster a strong risk culture and accountability mindset
