State And Local Tax Senior Associate

Position Profile

Weavers State and Local Tax (SALT) team is looking for a Tax Senior Associate to join our growing team. SALT Senior Associates have in-depth, first-hand experience in a wide range of industries. They draw on experience in accounting and taxation to provide compliance and consulting services to corporate clients. A SALT Senior Associate identifies complex tax issues and provides tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Their primary responsibilities include working on tax return compliance and recovery of tax overpayments (reverse audits), as well as preparing tax research projects for clients in diverse industries by thoroughly researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues and tax implications.

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA or CA candidate, or you’re pursuing the CMI or EA
• 4-8 years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm, tax services firm, or similar industry experience
• Experience in state and local tax compliance and consulting
• Familiarity with basic tax research techniques (RIA, CCH)
  
  

Additionally, The Following Qualifications Are Preferred

• Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA, CA, EA or CMI
• Knowledge of managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing
• Ability to analyze raw data from ERP systems to reconcile to trial balances and tax returns
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
