Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and talented Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in managing kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in daily restaurant operations, leading the culinary team, and ensuring that all safety and hygiene standards are met. Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Chef in daily culinary operations and kitchen management.
  • Develop new menu items in collaboration with the culinary team.
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all food items served.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor junior kitchen staff and culinary team members.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of special events and catering orders.
  • Implement and enforce kitchen safety and hygiene standards and regulations.
  • Monitor food waste and storage practices to minimize costs and waste.
  • Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assist in budget and cost control activities within the kitchen department.
  • Conduct regular kitchen inspections to uphold food quality and safety standards.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve any culinary-related complaints promptly.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar culinary role in a restaurant.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training in gastronomy and kitchen management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills in a culinary setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to manage and work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for quality control.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations and compliance standards.
