Job Description

Dodge Construction Network (Dodge) is looking for an experienced QA Architect with a strong command of modern test automation frameworks, AI-assisted testing practices, and cloud-native quality engineering. This role requires the ability to define and govern an enterprise-wide quality strategy spanning functional, performance, security, and accessibility testing, while leveraging AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor to accelerate test creation, maintenance, and coverage. The ideal candidate bridges the gap between engineering and quality, embedding testing excellence throughout the software development lifecycle.

This is a full-time position and reports directly to the VP, Data Innovation & AI.

Preferred Location

Qualified candidates should be based in or near Kochi and able to work from our Kochi office as part of a hybrid schedule.

Essential Functions

Test Automation Architecture

  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks from the ground up across UI, API, and service layers
  • Build and maintain automated test suites using modern tools including Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, WebdriverIO, and Appium for web and mobile testing
  • Develop API test suites using Postman, RestAssured, Karate, or Supertest and integrate them into CI pipelines
  • Apply test pyramid principles to balance unit, integration, contract (Pact), and end-to-end test coverage appropriately
  • Architect data-driven, keyword-driven, and BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin) testing approaches tailored to team maturity and product complexity
  • Implement test reporting and analytics solutions using Allure, ReportPortal, or custom dashboards to surface quality insights

AI-Assisted Test Automation

  • Leverage AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to generate, refactor, and maintain automated test suites
  • Use AI pair-programming tools to scaffold test cases directly from requirements, user stories, or API specifications
  • Apply LLM-based tooling to identify test coverage gaps, surface edge cases, and improve assertion quality across test suites
  • Integrate AI-powered testing platforms such as Testim, Mabl, or Applitools into CI/CD pipelines
  • Craft effective prompt-engineering instructions to produce accurate, idiomatic test code in frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress
  • Drive AI adoption across QA teams by coaching engineers on productive AI-assisted testing workflows

Performance & Load Testing

  • Design and execute performance, load, stress, and soak tests using k6, Gatling, JMeter, or Locust
  • Define performance SLAs and baselines and integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation
  • Run distributed load generation and cloud-based performance testing on AWS, including services such as AWS Distributed Load Testing
  • Analyse performance bottlenecks using APM tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, or AWS CloudWatch
  • Correlate backend traces, database query plans, and infrastructure metrics with performance test results to drive resolution

Security & Accessibility Testing

  • Embed security testing into the SDLC using tools such as OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, Snyk, or Checkmarx
  • Write automated security regression tests targeting OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
  • Integrate static application security testing (SAST) and dynamic application security testing (DAST) into CI pipelines
  • Conduct and automate accessibility testing to WCAG 2.1 AA standards using tools such as Axe, Lighthouse, or Pa11y
  • Implement dependency vulnerability scanning and software composition analysis (SCA) as part of standard build pipelines

Cloud, DevOps & CI/CD Integration

  • Utilize AWS services relevant to quality engineering, including CodePipeline, CodeBuild, ECS, Lambda, S3, and CloudWatch Synthetics
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
  • Containerize test environments using Docker and orchestrate test runs in Kubernetes or AWS ECS
  • Manage environment provisioning and test data strategies, including data masking and synthetic data generation
  • Apply shift-left and shift-right testing practices, including production monitoring via synthetic tests and canary analysis
  • Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing using BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or AWS Device Farm

Microservices & API Quality Engineering

  • Define and execute test strategies for microservices architectures, including contract testing, chaos engineering, and service virtualisation
  • Implement consumer-driven contract testing using Pact or Spring Cloud Contract to validate inter-service compatibility
  • Apply API mocking and service virtualisation tools such as WireMock, Hoverfly, or AWS API Gateway mock integrations
  • Design and execute testing patterns for event-driven architectures using SNS, SQS, Kafka, or EventBridge
  • Build resilience and chaos tests using tools such as AWS Fault Injection Simulator or Chaos Monkey to validate system durability

Leadership & Quality Strategy

  • Define and govern a quality strategy across multiple product teams, including test standards, tooling selection, and metrics frameworks
  • Lead and mentor QA engineers and SDETs across automated, manual, and exploratory testing disciplines
  • Track and present quality KPIs — including defect escape rate, test coverage, MTTR, and automation ROI — to senior stakeholder
  • Partner closely with solutions architects, product owners, and DevOps engineers to embed quality at every stage of the SDLC
  • Facilitate a shift-left culture through developer testability workshops, definition-of-done standards, and pair-testing practices
  • Operate effectively in agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) using Jira, Confluence, and similar tooling

  • Strong programming skills in at least one language commonly used for test automation: TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java
  • Experience testing cloud-native and microservices-based applications on AWS or equivalent cloud platforms

Preferred Experience, Knowledge And Skills

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Developer Associate
