Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications with accuracy and efficiency following legal requirements.
• Verify the accuracy and legality of prescriptions delivered by healthcare practitioners.
• Provide counseling to patients on medication usage, dosing, and potential side effects.
• Monitor patient medication therapies and offer intervention and advice to optimize health outcomes.
• Maintain records, including pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, and registries.
• Ensure the accurate handling of cash, credit, and charge transactions related to prescriptions.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver holistic and integrated patient care.
• Ensure storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products comply with standards.
• Conduct health and wellness screenings, vaccinations, and patient education sessions.
• Participate in the development and implementation of pharmacy policy and procedures.
• Supervise and train pharmacy interns and technicians on best practices.
• Stay updated with the latest pharmaceutical advancements, changes in laws, and ethical practices.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Current pharmacy license in good standing in the applicable state.
• Proven experience working as a pharmacist in a retail or hospital setting.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for accurate prescribed medicine verification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer care.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and various point-of-sale systems.
