Job Description

Experienced Oracle DBA to manage and optimize Oracle environments running on Amazon RDS for Oracle. This offshore role provides 24/7 coverage and focuses on availability, performance, security, automation, and GoldenGate-based replication/migration support.

Core Responsibilities

Administer Oracle databases on Amazon RDS: provisioning, configuration, patching, maintenance windows, and upgrades.
Manage performance using RDS Performance Insights, CloudWatch, OEM, AWR/ADDM, and related tools.
Execute backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and RDS snapshots.
Support high availability, multi-AZ deployments, DR planning/testing, and GoldenGate replication.
Troubleshoot production issues, address performance bottlenecks, and participate in on-call rotations.
Automate operational tasks using Shell, Python/Perl, AWS CLI, and basic SDK tooling.
Maintain security standards, user access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements.

Required Experience

5+ years Oracle DBA experience (11g–21c).
2+ years with Amazon RDS for Oracle.
Strong SQL/PLSQL, RMAN, performance tuning, and Linux/Unix administration.
Hands-on GoldenGate experience.
Solid understanding of AWS fundamentals (VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS configurations).

Nice to Have

ASM exposure, DMS experience, or familiarity with other RDS engines.
Oracle OCP or AWS certifications.

Work Model

Offshore, remote, partial US-time overlap, rotational 24/7 on-call support.
