OPAL places accounting at the core and connects finance, customers, people, projects, documents and workflow in one secure operating environment. We are establishing our software development team and office in Kochi, Kerala.

The opportunity

Build the automated quality controls needed to release OPAL’s connected SaaS modules with confidence, security and reliable regression coverage.

What you’ll do

• Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, API, integration and data testing.
• Create automated coverage for cross-module and end-to-end business workflows.
• Validate tenant isolation, permissions, security boundaries and audit behaviour.
• Test accounting calculations, transactional integrity, reporting and compliance-related workflows.
• Plan and execute performance, load, resilience and scalability testing.
• Integrate quality gates and automated suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with product and engineering to improve testability, defect prevention and release readiness.

Opalus Investments Limited is developing OPAL, an AI-powered SaaS business operating platform for small and medium-sized businesses. With accounting at its core, OPAL is designed to connect finance, banking, customers, people, recruitment, projects, documents, workflow and reporting in one secure operating environment. A permissioned AI layer is being designed across the connected business record to help users understand information, prepare work and take controlled action with appropriate approvals and audit trails.

The company has completed a high-fidelity working prototype and is building the production-grade platform for an initial Australian release. Opalus is now establishing a software development office and multidisciplinary product team in Kochi, Kerala, to help take OPAL through engineering, testing, release and ongoing product development.

What you bring

• 6–10 years of QA engineering experience, including 4–5 years of hands-on test automation experience.
• Experience independently designing automation frameworks for a SaaS product.
• Experience defining test strategies for a SaaS product, with a sound understanding of risk-based testing and defect analysis.
• Experience driving quality practices across a SaaS product.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Strong automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or comparable tooling.
• API testing experience using REST Assured, Postman or equivalent frameworks.
• Performance-testing experience with k6, JMeter or similar tools.
• Strong SQL and data-validation skills.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD workflows.
• Exposure to security testing and accessibility testing.
• Experience testing multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• Experience working closely with stakeholders across product and engineering.
• Eligible to work in India.

Preferred experience

• Experience testing accounting, ERP, banking or financial applications.

Location requirement

This position is based in Kochi, Kerala, India. Applicants must already be based in Kochi or be willing to relocate to Kochi.
