Quality Engineer

Position Summary: In this role, you will work collaboratively with development during sprint planning to design what tests will need to be written and passed for the sprint to be considered complete. Must be able to work with the development team to help them understand tests, but also ready to be a staunch defender of quality when your tests stand between them and the finish line of done and in production. As an experienced tester you will be able to take the lead during planning, testing and deployments to ensure the team meets it goal of delivering a quality product. Be ready to work with product and software engineering throughout the whole development cycle to ensure quality of software. This will include analyzing acceptance criteria, defining effective test cases as well as building and maintaining our automated test suite. You will be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, test, and production environments. They will have substantial knowledge of the financial sector, understanding of user experience and how to continually improve the quality of the software development process.

Responsibilities

Analyze the integration with vendor partners to ensure compatibility of application in test and production environments.

• Identify areas of improvement that will help build and deploy updates across multiple environments more effectively.
• Provide advanced peer-reviews focused on code quality and the reduction of operational debt.
• Build and maintain web, API and mobile automation tools and frameworks.
• Able to step in as a leader of the team whenever necessary to ensure team direction is being maintained and deliverables are being met.
• Work with infrastructure team to improve the CI/CD pipeline with focus on reliability and automation of deployment.
  
  

• Working understanding and experience of Test-Driven Development and CI/CD best practices.
• Understanding of web, API and mobile automation tools and frameworks.
• Strong organizational skills.

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical test cases for automation.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional work teams.
• Experience working with collaborative geographically dispersed team members.

• Advanced understanding of the full application and the dependencies required for connecting and working with 3rd party vendors.
• Ability to create and maintain pipelines to support existing CI/CD systems.

• BE/BTech/BS/MS/ME/MTech degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  
  

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, complexity theory and object-oriented design.
• Experience with automated (JS) testing frameworks such as Cypress, Detox, Jasmine, Jest.
• Cloud environment experience and AWS certifications are a plus.
• Experience developing high quality test automation.
• Experience maintaining and enhancing automated testing projects.
• Knowledge of software quality assurance/engineering methodologies, tools and processes.
• Strong, object-oriented design and coding experience.
• Experience building automated testing projects from ground up.
• Experience building CI/CD processes and leveraging tools such as Jenkins.
