Job Title: Senior / Lead Electrical Design Engineer – Primary (HV Substations)
Location: Karachi, Pakistan (Preferred) | Remote (Open across Pakistan)

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior / Lead Electrical Design Engineer – Primary with expertise in HV Substation Design (up to 220kV) to support renewable energy and power infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in primary design engineering, electrical studies, and substation layouts while ensuring compliance with international engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design AIS/GIS HV substations up to 220kV, including indoor and outdoor layouts.

• Perform earthing system design, grounding calculations, and lightning protection design.

• Prepare cable sizing calculations, cable layouts, and equipment selection.

• Conduct load flow, short circuit, and reactive power compensation studies.

• Develop engineering drawings, technical reports, and design documentation.

• Support BOQ preparation, technical proposals, and procurement activities.

• Ensure designs comply with IEC and IEEE standards.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project execution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.

• 5+ years of experience in HV Substation Primary Design.

• Experience with AIS/GIS substations up to 220kV.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, CDEGS, and MS Office.

• Strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards.

• Excellent technical reporting, analytical, and teamwork skills.
