Medical Officer Paediatrics And Child Health - MC

Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

• understand and adhere to the study protocol, SOPs, and study requirements
• perform medical history, clinical examination, and eligibility assessment of participants
• provide clinical care and daily monitoring of admitted participants, including day and night shifts
• conduct daily rounds with the study consultant and manage medications, investigations, and clinical orders
• identify, document, and report abnormal findings, adverse events, and safety concerns
• ensure timely and accurate completion of clinical and study-related documentation
• review, validate, and perform quality checks on clinical and study data
• develop and maintain study documents, including progress reports, SOPs, protocol amendments, and data collection forms
• train and supervise junior research staff and coordinate with relevant study teams
• perform other study-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirement

You should have:

• MBBS degree along with One Year house Job/internship experience will be preferred
• experience in comprehensive patient history and perform clinical examination
• ensure clear communication with patients and the study team
• ability to establish harmonious working relations at the place of work
• Flexible in taking over additional/new responsibilities when required by project
• able to understand and follow instruction
• excellent communication skills.
