ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong test automation expertise to build automated test coverage for a large-scale platform, working in TypeScript and Playwright initially with opportunities to expand into broader Java or Kotlin backend engineering work. You will create and maintain test frameworks, write functional, integration, and API tests, integrate suites into CI/CD pipelines, and contribute independently to production code.

MUST HAVES

- 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience.

- 4+ years of test engineering and automation experience.

- Hands-on experience developing backend services using Java or Kotlin.

- Advanced TypeScript skills.

- Hands-on Playwright experience, including creating and maintaining test frameworks.

- Experience writing functional, integration, and API tests.

- Ability to write clear, comprehensive, and maintainable test cases.

- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.

- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.

- Ability to contribute independently to production code, not only test code.

- Upper-intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

- Experience with cloud platforms, containerized services, or microservice architectures.

- Experience with performance, reliability, accessibility, or contract testing.

- REST APIs and backend services.

- Git and pull-request workflows.

- CI/CD platforms.

- Web and mobile web testing tools.
