To oversee and optimize hot rolling mill process operations, ensuring consistent product quality, maximum productivity, process efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. The role is responsible for monitoring rolling parameters, driving process improvements, reducing production losses, troubleshooting operational issues, and coordinating with production, maintenance, quality, and technical teams to achieve production targets and continuous improvement objectives

Job Description
To monitor, control, and optimize hot rolling mill processes to achieve production targets, ensure product quality, improve operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. The role supports continuous process improvement initiatives and coordinates with production, maintenance, and quality teams to enhance mill performance.

Principal Accountabilities
Monitor and control rolling mill parameters such as temperature speed reduction schedule cooling rates and rolling loads to ensure optimal process control and optimizationbrEnsure adherence to standard operating procedures SOPs and process specifications to maintain high standards of production qualitybrAnalyze process performance data and recommend improvements to enhance productivity yield and qualitybrOptimize rolling practices to minimize defects cobbles scale loss and material wastage thereby improving overall efficiencybrSupport the achievement of daily monthly and annual production targets by monitoring mill utilization throughput and downtimebrCoordinate with shift operations teams to ensure smooth production flow and prepare and review production and process performance reportsbrEnsure rolled products meet customer specifications and quality requirements by investigating quality deviations and implementing corrective and preventive actionsbrCollaborate with quality assurance teams to reduce product defects and customer complaints and monitor process capability to drive quality improvement initiativesbrIdentify process bottlenecks and operational issues affecting mill performance conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective measures to prevent recurrencebrLead and participate in continuous improvement cost reduction and productivity enhancement projects using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma TPM and KaizenbrEnsure compliance with safety regulations company policies and environmental standards by promoting a strong safety culture and conducting safety audits and risk assessmentsbrCoordinate with maintenance production quality and utility departments to provide technical guidance and support to shift engineers supervisors and operatorsbrAssist in training and skill development of operational personnel to enhance team capabilities and performance
