Strategic Sourcing DM/Manager (Heavy Fabrication Structures & Casting Forging Machining)
Job Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for heavy
fabrication structures, steel fabrication, and related manufacturing services. The role focuses on identifying
qualified suppliers, optimizing procurement costs, ensuring quality and timely delivery, and building long-term
supplier partnerships to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute sourcing strategies for heavy fabrication structures, steel components, and fabrication
services.
* Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers based on technical capability, quality, cost, and delivery
performance.
* Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs, evaluate quotations, and conduct commercial and technical bid analysis.
* Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, delivery schedules, and long-term supply agreements.
* Collaborate with Engineering, Projects, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to understand technical specifications
and sourcing requirements.
* Perform cost analysis, should-costing, and value engineering to achieve cost optimization.
* Conduct supplier capability assessments, audits, and performance reviews.
* Monitor supplier KPIs related to quality, on-time delivery, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
* Mitigate supply chain risks by developing alternate sources and contingency plans.
* Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
* Support localization initiatives and supplier development programs.
* Maintain accurate sourcing documentation, supplier records, and procurement reports.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* 12+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in fabrication, structural steel &
machining.
* Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding, raw materials, and engineering drawings.
* Experience with ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
* Knowledge of contract management and commercial negotiations.
