Executive Direct Tax

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end management of Direct Tax compliances including preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns.
• Computation of taxable income, deferred tax, advance tax, and tax provisioning.
• Preparation, filing, reconciliation, and compliance of TDS/TCS returns, including correction statements and lower deduction certificates.
• Monthly reconciliation of TDS with books of accounts, Form 26AS, AIS, TIS, TRACES, and General Ledger; resolution of mismatches and defaults.
• Preparation and filing of Statement of Financial Transactions (SFT) and other statutory information returns.
• Reconciliation of tax ledgers, challans, Form 26AS, AIS/TIS, and ensuring accuracy of tax credits.
• Handling Income Tax notices, scrutiny assessments, reassessment proceedings, faceless assessments, rectification matters, refunds, and departmental correspondence.
• Drafting replies to notices, preparing submissions, compiling supporting documentation, and coordinating with tax authorities.
• Preparation of tax workings and schedules for statutory audit, tax audit, internal audit, and financial reporting.
• Ensuring timely payment and reconciliation of advance tax, TDS/TCS, self-assessment tax, and other direct tax liabilities.
• Supporting tax planning initiatives and evaluating the direct tax implications of business transactions.
• Monitoring amendments in Direct Tax laws, CBDT notifications, circulars, and judicial pronouncements, and implementing the necessary changes.
• Maintaining tax records, compliance trackers, litigation files, and MIS reports.
• Working on SAP for tax accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance-related activities.
