We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative Social Media Sub-Editor to join our editorial team. This role requires someone who is passionate about digital media, sharp with trends, and can bridge the gap between writers, editors, and audiences. You will play a vital role in curating, editing, and publishing social-first content that is accurate, engaging, and visually appealing.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Create and curate engaging social media posts focused on Entertainment, British Royal Family, and trending news topics.
• Research and identify fresh stories, viral trends, and emerging conversations across platforms.
• Edit and prioritize stories, ensuring high editorial standards while meeting deadlines.
• Design visually appealing posts using tools like Meta Business Suite, Canva, and Photoshop, and schedule them for publishing.
• Collaborate with editorial leads and writers to maintain consistency in tone, quality, and timeliness.
• Track platform performance and stay updated on social media algorithms, trends, and best practices to maximize reach and engagement.
  
  

• Proven experience in social media editing, digital publishing, or editorial roles.
• Strong command of English with excellent grammar, editing, and headline-writing skills.
• Proficiency with Meta Business Suite, Canva, Photoshop, and other relevant design/editing tools.
• Ability to spot and translate trending topics into engaging, platform-optimized posts.
• Keen eye for detail, accuracy, and visual storytelling.
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced digital newsroom environment.
