Role Overview

We are looking for an AI Engineer focused on automation and agent orchestration to build production-grade, agentic systems that coordinate real workflows across services, APIs, and internal tools.

This is not a low-code automation role. You will be designing agent-to-agent (A2A) systems that decompose tasks, delegate work, manage state, and recover from failure, all while running reliably in production.

What You’ll Do

• Build AI-driven automations that orchestrate multi-step workflows across systems
• Design and implement agent-to-agent (A2A) coordination, including:
• Task decomposition and planning
• Delegation between agents
• State management, retries, and recovery
• Implement hybrid systems combining deterministic logic with LLM-driven decision-making
• Own orchestration logic end-to-end, from design to production behavior
• Build robust tool-calling and action frameworks
• Integrate agents with real-world systems (payments, subscriptions, messaging, data services)
• Instrument automations with logging, metrics, guardrails, and alerts
• Ship frequently (daily or near-daily) and iterate based on failures and feedback
• Debug and improve distributed, stateful systems in production

Must-Have Qualifications

• 2–5 years experience as a backend, platform, or AI engineer
• Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript
• Experience building automation systems or workflow engines
• Hands-on experience with agentic or multi-step AI workflows
• Demonstrated understanding of agent-to-agent (A2A) orchestration
• Comfort designing: Stateful workflows
• Idempotency
• Retries and error handling
• Experience integrating with external APIs and services
• Strong system design skills with awareness of failure modes, scale, and observability
• Proven ability to ship production systems, not just prototypes

Not a Fit

• Reliance on low-code / no-code automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, n8n)
• Prompt-only, demo-focused, or proof-of-concept AI work
• Research-only or notebook-only ML roles
• Candidates unwilling to own production failures and fixes

Strong Preferences / Bonuses

• Experience with agent development frameworks (e.g., Google ADK or similar)
• Familiarity with:
• Tool / function-calling patterns
• Planning + execution architectures
• Memory, context management, and guardrails
• Experience with event-driven systems or async workflows
• Early-stage startup or zero-to-one product experience

This is a permanent, full-time contractor role. It is fully remote.
