We are seeking Technical Team Leads to oversee quality and delivery for our application-level products. You will manage a compact team of 3-5 engineers developing educational applications that serve thousands of students.
Potential Products Include
- Athena: AI-powered videos and assessments that produce measurable learning results
- TeachTap: AI-driven platform that animates historical figures in a TikTok-inspired educational format
- TeachTales: Customized storytelling experiences that enhance reading comprehension
- TrashCat: Game-based learning that makes education engaging and enjoyable
This position balances hands-on technical work with leadership: you'll spend 50% of your time implementing sophisticated features and 50% guiding and developing your team. Your responsibilities include defining quality standards, creating architectural patterns, conducting code reviews with instructive commentary, and fostering engineer development. Team results are your accountability, extending beyond individual code contributions.
Lean team structure, substantial ownership, minimal administrative overhead. Technical leadership is your domain; people management responsibilities rest elsewhere.
What You Will Be Doing

- Conducting pull request reviews with comprehensive, instructional feedback
- Developing engineers through pair programming and constructive critique
- Organizing technical initiatives and decomposing product requirements
- Defining quality benchmarks and maintaining team adherence
What You Won’t Be Doing

- Developing platform-level infrastructure components
- Participating in excessive meetings
- Designing architecture without hands-on implementation
Basic Requirements
Technical Lead key responsibilities
- At least 5 years of full-stack development experience
- At least 2 years in a lead role (reviewing others' work, mentoring engineers, establishing team practices)
- Track record of shipping SaaS products
- Experience with AI tools in development workflow
- Demonstrated ability to help other engineers improve and grow
