The primary purpose of this position is to research, analyze, interpret, transform and present reference data for equities and funds securities.
The Equities and fixed income market consists of over two million active securities and the reference data provided by ICE Data Services for said securities is used by our clients to make trading decisions, settle trades, make investment decisions, manage portfolios, analyze risk, create security master files, create client statements and conduct other back-office functions. Our reference data is also used by internal stakeholders such as the Evaluated Pricing, Index and Analytics groups said reference data plays an integral role in determining evaluated prices, determining whether or not a security should be added to or deleted from an index or indices, the weighted average of a security within an index and, performing a series of analytical calculations that are used both internally within ICE and externally by these stakeholder’s clientele.
Responsibilities
Conduct root cause analysis for large-scale client inquiries to determine causation and develop solutions.
Conducts in-depth analysis and review of work conducted by junior members of the team to identify both individual and systemic data problems.
Assists in the planning and coordinating of work assignments for the team and across teams.
Work with internal stakeholders including business analysts, IT, product management and customer service teams to identify and implement process improvements as needed.
Create business rules for complex excel and macro functions to organize, analyze, convert and create reference data.
Increase knowledge of content sets supported by other RDO teams from both database and product perspectives
Create business rules for SQL and Python queries with medium complexities to identify erroneous data and to build data quality / quality control reports.
Analyze content to identify data gaps and erroneous data that when fixed, will have a significant impact on reference data clients.
Monitor government regulations and identify new market trends creating new processes and new reference data needs required to satisfy the changing market
Participate in the hiring process for the team and work with the manager of the team, recruiting and HR teams to ensure that the onboarding process is consistent and adheres to ICE policies and procedures.
Manage the day-to-day operations of a team of 10-20 individuals responsible including motivating, mentoring and coaching team members.
Set priorities for the group when multiple priorities exist.
Ensure all work product is completed on time and in an accurate fashion; required work varies because of both economic and seasonal causes and due to shifts in resource availability.
Conduct manager roles and responsibilities when the manager is out of the office
Participant in manager training initiatives to continue personal development.
Knowledge And Experience
BA/BS in Finance, Economics or equivalent practical experience
MBA/MBS in Finance, Economics or equivalent practical experience preferred
5+ years of relevant RDO experience directly working in reference data operations or customer service.
Demonstrate subject matter expertise of the reference data product derivation rules to understand how data is disseminated in products and how data is transported and transformed from one database to another as it flows from the entry point to products
Demonstrate ability to work autonomously
Demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures and work with training team to augment best practices as changes in the marketplace evolve.
Demonstrate familiarity with reference data products to support client challenges and resolve data problems.
Demonstrate knowledge of Company employee policies and procedures.
Have a working knowledge of local employment regulations and statutory requirements.
Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressured, fluid environment
Ability to distill large amounts of varied information into specific takeaways
Excellent attention to detail and high degree of demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills
