Job Summary

The Garnishment Supervisor oversees a team of Garnishment Analysts responsible for processing U.S. wage garnishment orders across multiple jurisdictions. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, timely processing, and SLA adherence while guiding analysts through complex cases, escalations, and regulatory requirements. The Supervisor provides coaching, performance management, quality reviews, and workflow governance to maintain high operational performance and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of Garnishment Analysts managing multi‑state U.S. garnishment orders.
  • Oversee daily work allocation, queue governance, SLA tracking, and case prioritization.
  • Review complex garnishment orders, including child support, tax levies, creditor orders, and wage withholding disputes.
  • Ensure accuracy of withholding calculations, deduction priorities, and compliance with CCPA and state regulations.
  • Handle escalations from agencies, clients, and internal stakeholders; perform root‑cause analysis and approve corrections.
  • Conduct quality audits on analyst work and provide coaching, feedback, and improvement plans.
  • Partner with Payroll Tax, HRIS, Compliance, and Terminations teams to resolve jurisdiction‑specific issues.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and audit‑ready records for all garnishment activities and correspondence.
  • Monitor agency payments, refunds, reversals, and coordinate reconciliation activities.
  • Develop analysts through training on SOPs, legal guidelines, system navigation, and process updates.
  • Support quarter‑end/year‑end compliance, reporting, and audit reviews.
  • Drive process improvements, SOP updates, and automation opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct team huddles, performance reviews, 1:1s, and maintain engagement and retention.
  • Ensure alignment with data privacy, security standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide end-to-end customer support through multiple channels including Chat, Email, and Inbound/Outbound Calls, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional resolution of client and employee inquiries.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work in a 24/7 shift environment, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with business and client coverage requirements


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business, HR, or related field.
  • 5+ years of U.S. payroll garnishments experience, including multi‑state jurisdictions.
  • 2+ years leading or supervising analysts in payroll, garnishments, or shared services.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. wage garnishment rules, CCPA limits, state regulations, and withholding priorities.
  • Experience working with payroll platforms such as Workday, PeopleSoft, ADP, or SAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for handling complex calculation scenarios.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for agency and stakeholder interactions.


Qualifications

  • Experience supervising teams in a PEO, shared services, or high‑volume payroll environment.
  • Proficiency in payroll/HRIS systems such as People Soft, Workday, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
  • Knowledge of garnishment payment reconciliation and agency portal navigation.
  • Experience with automation tools, workflow engines, or process optimization.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop analysts.
  • High attention to detail with disciplined documentation habits.
  • Ability to manage escalations and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation).
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills in high‑volume environments.
  • Commitment to compliance, confidentiality, and data integrity.
