Title: IN-Staff. DevOps Engineer 1
The Candidate should have prior background working in Application Development or IT Infrastructure and should have a solid high-level understanding of the underlying IT principles (Systems, Network, Software, IaC, SaaS, Virtualization, Kubernetes, Containers, CI/CD). DevOps Engineer will work with Stakeholders from both Development and Infrastructure to ensure timely and reliable software release delivery while minimizing the risk to business-critical infrastructure and applications.
Responsibilities
DevOps Engineer will gather requirements for automation opportunities; develop and manage CI/CD process for different types of applications and automate as many processes as possible
Actively engage in CI/CD, Agile and DevOps process, participate regularly in planning and releases
Responsible for Automating on-prem VMWare and AZURE Infrastructure and Platform Deployment with IaC.
Create and update application run books & appropriate technical documentation
Implement infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
Configure and maintain containerization and orchestration systems using Docker and Kubernetes
Deploy, configure, and manage Hashivault SaaS environment, implement authentication methods, secret engines, and policies to securely manage encryption keys, API credentials, and sensitive data across the organization and integrate with GitHub & CI/CD pipelines.
Create custom PowerShell scripts, webhooks, and event handlers to automate RBAC. Integrate Delinea SaaS Secret Server with CI/CD pipelines for onboarding departments/teams
Ensure all release processes, policies and procedures are properly communicated and documented
Assist in establishing and enforcing standards that will improve the ease of automating the build process and the development environments
Manage and maintain enterprise infrastructure tools as the primary subject matter expert
Automate, deploy and manage virtualization infrastructure
Establish cloud governance standards by implementing role-based access controls, security guardrails, compliance requirements, and infrastructure best practices across Azure environments.
Prioritize workload and resolve any technical issues/roadblocks
Solid skills in logical troubleshooting, communication, documentation and problem resolution
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or engineering related field or equivalent work experience
8 to 10 years of combined related work experience
4+ years working experience with Ansible configuration and orchestration
3+ years working experience with Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps & CI/CD Pipeline automation, Jenkins, Jira
3+ years working experience with Windows or Linux system administration and support
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, AKS)
Proficiency in operating system and software
Intermediate knowledge of Networking (VLAN, sub netting, routing and switching)
Willing to work under different technologies and take up new technology responsibilities outside the core skills
Demonstrable experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery principles (ci/cd) and implementation
Strong Scripting experience like Python, Bash Shell, PowerShell, etc.
Solid understanding of Restful APIs
Ability to interact with various levels of professionals
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Ability to act independently to drive IT goals and changes
Advanced troubleshooting methodology
Ability to judge priorities and adjust their work accordingly
Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
Provide architectural guidance, and governance for cloud automation, secrets management, and privileged access management initiatives.
Preferred Skills
Experience with the implementation and use of different Application (APM) and/or Infrastructure monitoring tools
Being able to work cross platform, with Windows and Linux. This helps understand hybrid platform environment and thus helps design considerations. Certification is preferable (RHCE or likewise)
Scripting languages for configuration and automation (PowerShell or Python)
Knowledge of protocols: HTTP, SSL, SSH, WINRM, JMS, JDBC, REST API(ServiceNow and AWX/Tower), etc.
Familiarity with observability and analysis solutions such as Elastic
2+ years’ experience with VMWare, Azure, AWX
Good Knowledge on HashiCorp Vault Enterprise
Solid understanding on Delinea Secret Server / Privileged Access Management (PAM)
Good knowledge on any patching tools like Redhat Satellite or Manage Engine.
Good understanding on any backup tool preferably Commvault.
Experience in automation of key functions, including back-up, continuous integration, provisioning is a huge plus
Fluent English and high oral and written communication skills
