Role Overview

As a Senior Specialist, you will lead the day-to-day stewardship of customer master data and the practical execution of governance policies and standards. You will ensure that customer data is accurate, complete, timely, and aligned with enterprise governance expectations.

In close partnership with the MDM lead, business stakeholders, and technical teams, you will manage stewardship workflows, support data quality remediation, guide process improvements, assist with system upgrades and testing, and contribute to automation and agentic AI initiatives designed to improve efficiency and reduce manual stewardship effort.

What Will You Do In This Role

  • Customer Master Data Stewardship
  • Steward customer master data (HCP/HCO) to ensure a single trusted source with governed survivorship, harmonization, and consistency across business domains.
  • Review, validate, and consolidate customer information across upstream and downstream systems.
  • Ensure customer records are maintained in accordance with established data standards, governance policies, and business rules.
  • Support the maintenance of the customer golden record through ongoing data review, correction, and exception handling.
  • Use Informatica MDM to support stewardship operations and customer data lifecycle management.
  • Data Quality and Issue Resolution
  • Monitor customer master data for duplicates, conflicts, incomplete attributes, and inconsistencies.
  • Perform merge and unmerge activities as required to preserve data integrity and accuracy.
  • Investigate data anomalies, determine root causes, and coordinate remediation with source system owners and business stakeholders.
  • Validate customer data against authoritative sources and enforce defined quality thresholds.
  • Lead the timely resolution of stewardship exceptions and customer-related inquiries.
  • Governance, Standards, and Compliance
  • Enforce master and reference data standards, including code sets, hierarchy structures, and survivorship rules applicable to customer data.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental SOPs, governance controls, and regulatory expectations.
  • Review and refine stewardship procedures and documentation to ensure process consistency and operational control.
  • Partner with the MDM lead to ensure appropriate handling of sensitive customer master data, including PII and PHI.
  • Maintain adherence to approved governance practices and data distribution policies.
  • Lifecycle Management, Change Control, and Release Support
  • Execute stewardship workflows supporting customer create, change, retire, match, merge, and issue triage activities.
  • Coordinate with downstream stakeholders to manage the impact of customer master data changes.
  • Support system upgrades and release activities by validating data integrity and leading steward-related testing and readiness.
  • Maintain change control discipline and ensure updates are aligned with release schedules and business priorities.
  • Contribute to the effective management of customer data through structured lifecycle oversight.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with business users, IT teams, and data governance partners to clarify customer data definitions and resolve operational issues.
  • Build effective working relationships to ensure stewardship activities align with business requirements and technical implementation.
  • Communicate issues, impacts, and resolutions clearly and professionally to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support cross-functional alignment to improve stewardship processes and customer data quality.
  • Contribute to a collaborative culture focused on accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Reporting, SLA Management, UAT, and Automation
  • Monitor and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for stewardship activities, customer inquiries, and project deliverables.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for MDM enhancements, system changes, and process improvements.
  • Prepare and review stewardship reports, operational metrics, and quality trend analysis.
  • Document outcomes, issues, and follow-up actions in a timely and disciplined manner.
  • Lead and contribute to automation and agentic AI initiatives that streamline stewardship work, including validation, issue triage, routing, and monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through intelligent workflow design, rule-based processing, and AI-assisted decision support.
  • Automation
  • Work on automation and agentic AI initiatives to automate repetitive stewardship activities such as data validation, issue triage, anomaly detection, workflow routing, and status monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual intervention through intelligent automation, templates, rule-based processing, and AI-assisted stewardship decision support.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to evaluate, test, and adopt automation solutions that improve stewardship efficiency and scalability.

What Should You Have

  • Primary skills Informatica MDM, Customer master data stewardship, Master Data Management (MDM), Data governance, Data quality, Stewardship, SQL
  • Secondary skills Automation, Agentic AI, UAT, Workflow optimization, Match and Merge rule optimisation, Anomaly detection, metrics, CRM platforms (e.g., Veeva CRM), PII / PHI handling
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in data stewardship, master data management, data governance, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated senior-level experience in customer master data management and stewardship operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Informatica MDM.
  • Strong SQL skills are required.
  • Experience with merge/unmerge processes, data quality monitoring, and stewardship workflow execution.
  • Experience leading or coordinating system upgrades and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Veeva CRM or comparable systems.
  • Experience in a regulated pharmaceutical environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SOP compliance, operational controls, and SLA management.
  • Exposure to automation, workflow optimization, or AI-enabled operational improvements is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to quality and continuous improvement.
