We are looking for a Software Development Engineer for the FinTech Lyra (Liquidity, Risk and Applied AI) team. Our team provides and maintains a suite of technology offerings that enable Treasury to effectively manage and optimize Amazons liquidity needs and risk exposure while ensuring controllership and compliance across the globe. In this role, you will design, develop, and own scalable distributed systems that power critical financial workflows, including risk engines that calculate Amazons risk profile and assess the incurred cost to insure these risks. Youll collaborate closely with machine learning scientists, data scientists, software engineers, risk managers, product managers, and business stakeholders across Finance globally to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions. This role offers unique opportunity to make measurable impact on Treasurys Controllership and Governance charter as well as Claims management, Risk Intelligence, and Financial automation.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will play a role in the design, implementation and deployment of large-scale and complex software systems. You will get to deliver innovative solutions to challenging problems. You will communicate your ideas effectively to achieve the right outcome for your team and customer. You enjoy collaborating with others to increase the effectiveness of the overall team.

About The Team

Our team consists of high-performing engineers who support each others growth and bring deep AWS services and financial domain expertise to deliver best-in-class solutions for our Finance and Global Business Services customers. Youll collaborate with Treasury and Accounts Payable teams to solve complex entity management challenges, building systems that process billions of dollars in transactions while ensuring accurate financial operations across Amazons global entities.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
