The Position
As the Site Compliance Officer, you are responsible for:
Support the implementation of global policies and directives, regional initiatives and support local SOP/process development, striving for simplification.
Responsible for local handling of BEI cases and reporting.
Advise Roche employees regarding compliance obligations, risks, actual or potential
compliance related issues, lead all investigations and resolution of issues, as well as take corrective actions, collaborate with the BA (RIS, RDS, RDT and other business) compliance stakeholders for Business Area investigations for free and fair investigations
Maintain Risk and Opportunities register for legal entity 6221 -The regular execution of risk analysis, its evaluation and the definition of appropriate
opportunities
As a member of the 6221 site Leadership Team (SLT) partners with local management to ensure the company`s dedication to ethical and legal conduct is upheld throughout the organization. This involves a contribution to the development of the compliance framework and foster a culture of integrity and ethical business practices, consistent with the Roche values and external requirements
Fostering open communication and speak-up culture.
Foster alignment and collaboration with key stakeholders from site leadership team and global compliance team to ensure the effective implementation of compliance initiatives, promote the sharing of successful strategies and effective procedures and establish clear accountabilities for specific topics within the partnership
Additional tasks:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the products, initiatives, priorities and goals of the business
Support analysis of general trends and compliance effectiveness. Support analysis of and report on divisional compliance status, using existing metrics and data
Contribute to setting and simplification, harmonization and improvement of standards as appropriate (guidance, directives SOPs etc.)
Establish and facilitate appropriate forums, processes, controls to fulfill accountabilities and provide the respective assurances to group compliance
Advocate for development and provision of effective means and materials to educate and train staff as well as collaborating parties on behavior in business and compliance and verify training effectiveness
Uphold tracking of mandatory global training programs. Share knowledge and learnings with the Compliance network
Raise awareness so employees can raise concerns about compliance topics with Line Management or the local Compliance Officer
Serve as a liaison to Group Audit & Risk Advisory (GA&RA) and Group Compliance
Build and sustain relationships with regulatory/industry bodies in India
Identifying and following national and international political decision-making processes to safeguard the interests of Roche
Providing advice to and participating in governance bodies of Legal entity 6221.
Supporting and providing input to the representative of Roche in the local Trade Association, including in broader Indian industry and similar associations
Accountable for the compliance education of Legal entity 6221 employees
Own the Data Privacy Office
Support with the Local Export Control & Sanctions Officer (LECO) activities
Prior experience working in Global Capability Center in India or similar matrixed organization is highly preferred.
Who You Are:
Education:
University Degree (or MBA or other relevant Post Graduate qualification), preferably in the Legal, Finance, Economics, Business, Administration, Audit area
Professional experience/duration:
Experience in Audit, Compliance, Risk, Assurance or Governance is preferred
Strong knowledge of relevant local compliance policies and regulations
Specialist knowledge:
Passionate professional with high ethical and integrity standards. You demonstrate energy, passion, courage, vision and the drive to be part of an organization at the forefront of the industry, delivering benefits for patients, our people, and our business. You have high ethical and integrity standards.
Proficiency in compliance management. Proven business experience in healthcare, including comprehensive understanding of strategy, priorities, products and market conditions
