Position Summary: Service Now Developer
Level: Consultant
As an experienced Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines. Need-basis you will be mentoring and/or directing junior team members/liaising with onsite/offshore teams to understand the functional requirements.
As a ServiceNow Developer, you will be responsible for development, core configuration, and ongoing technical enhancement of Deloitte’s ServiceNow implementation. You’ll bring a solution-focused mindset, a passion for customer service, and thrive in a dynamic, high-velocity environment. You will also have opportunities to build foundational skills in ServiceNow’s AI and automation capabilities.
What You’ll Do:
- Translate functional specifications into logical technical designs; design and develop new ServiceNow workflows and processes.
- Develop and customize ServiceNow solutions (primarily ITSM) using JavaScript, Jelly, MySQL, XML, HTML, CSS, and REST/SOAP web services.
- Build and maintain custom Service Portal pages and widgets to support diverse business needs.
- Assist system administrators with incident resolution and ad-hoc platform troubleshooting.
- Guide, support, and conduct code walkthroughs for less experienced developers as needed.
- Ensure ServiceNow development and customization align to best practices to maintain compliance.
- Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive unit and integration test plans; coordinate and perform regression testing.
- Document, track, and resolve software defects; participate in UAT and incorporate feedback from business stakeholders.
- Manage Update Set creation and migration; assist with ServiceNow platform maintenance, upgrades, and vendor coordination.
- Participate in requirements gathering, maintain technical solution documentation, and collaborate with business/IT teams.
- Integrate ServiceNow with other enterprise applications using Integration Hub or standard APIs, following secure and scalable practices.
- Develop skills in leveraging ServiceNow’s GenAI features, such as Virtual Agent, NLP-driven ticket categorization, or AI Search, to enhance automation and workflow effectiveness.
- Assist with basic setup or integration of ServiceNow AI modules and participate in piloting small-scale AI-driven solutions with guidance from senior team members.
The team
Our Finance Transformation practice develops and licenses a growing family of proprietary software products (see http://www.deloitte.com/ft) to assist financial institutions with a number of complex topics, such as accounting for credit deteriorated assets and the administration of investments in leveraged loans.

Qualifications –
Must have Required skillset:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technology/business discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 3–5 years of IT industry experience, including 3+ years of ServiceNow development.
- Strong experience configuring ServiceNow ITSM Modules using Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Workflow Editor, ACLs, Script Includes, JavaScript/GLIDE, and HTML5.
- Hands-on experience integrating ServiceNow with other IT applications or data sources.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow best practices, solution documentation, and update set management.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist or Certified Application Developer (preferred but not required for entry).
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn new ServiceNow and Gen AI/automation features as they emerge.
Good to have skillset Preferred:
- Experience implementing additional ServiceNow modules such as Customer Service Management (CSM), Integrated Risk Management (IRM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), or Security Operations (SecOps).
- Exposure to or direct experience working on real-time AI or automation solutions within ServiceNow or related IT platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile or SDLC testing cycles.
- Experience with day-to-day ServiceNow platform administration.
- Awareness of ServiceNow’s AI capabilities (e.g., Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence) and enthusiasm for developing expertise in this area.
- Experience using source control tools (e.g., GitHub) for collaborative code development and maintenance.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with strong motivation for continuous skill development and learning.
Education:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (3 Year) within a technical field.
