Senior Software Engineer, Go, Python, AWS, & Cloud Services

Location: Hyderabad, India — Hybrid, three days per week at Nasuni’s India Innovation Center

Role Overview

Nasuni is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and operate cloud services that support global file access, telemetry, analytics, and secure enterprise data workflows. You will join a global team that owns production services used by enterprise customers and develops new AWS capabilities.

This role combines backend engineering, infrastructure as code, and production ownership. It is for an engineer who enjoys moving between Go development, AWS, Terraform, data pipelines, observability, and incident investigation. It is not a pure DevOps or ML research role; production ownership is essential.

Level and Scope

You will independently design, implement, test, deploy, and operate complex features and service components within established platform architecture. You will make decisions about implementation, APIs, data flow, testing, observability, and deployment; identify risks early; and escalate broader architecture choices appropriately. The role is primarily hands-on and includes code reviews, technical guidance, and collaboration across Hyderabad and U.S.-based teams.

What You’ll Do

• Design and deliver production backend services and APIs in Go, with opportunities to contribute to Python services and automation.
• Build event-driven and serverless systems on AWS using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, Kinesis, IoT Core, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Define secure, repeatable cloud infrastructure and deployments through Terraform.
• Build and improve telemetry, ingestion, and analytics pipelines, including time-series data flows.
• Own features from technical design through release, monitoring, and post-production follow-through.
• Investigate customer escalations and incidents across application, infrastructure, data, and network layers; drive root-cause analysis and preventive improvements.
• Improve CI/CD, observability, runbooks, and shared on-call practices.
• Partner with platform, product, support, and data or ML teams on analytics, security, and AI-assisted diagnostic capabilities.
• Use approved AI-assisted engineering tools for code exploration, tests, documentation, or log analysis, while validating correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Raise engineering quality through code reviews, design feedback, and guidance to less-experienced engineers.

Expected Outcomes

Within six months, you will deliver a production change end to end, become effective in the support and on-call model, and improve at least one area of reliability or engineering automation. Over time, you will own increasingly complex service components and reduce operational risk through stronger testing, observability, and root-cause prevention.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Experience building and supporting production backend or cloud services.
• Proficiency in Go, including service design, testing, debugging, and code review.
• Hands-on AWS experience and knowledge of event-driven or serverless patterns.
• Production experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Demonstrated ownership of delivery, troubleshooting, and operational follow-through.
• Strong Linux, networking, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
• Clear communication skills across teams and time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

• Production experience with Python.
• Experience with messaging, streaming, time-series databases, or telemetry pipelines.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Grafana, tracing, Docker, ECS, or EKS.
• Practical use of AI-assisted engineering tools with sound validation and data-security judgment.

Ideal Qualifications

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, cloud data infrastructure, enterprise storage, file services, or security products.
• A record of turning ambiguous production incidents into durable engineering improvements.

Experience Guidelines

• Total experience: Typically 5–9 years in software engineering.
• Domain experience: At least 3 years building production backend or cloud services, with meaningful production-support or on-call ownership.
• Scope, depth, and evidence of independent ownership matter more than an exact year count.
