Job Description
You will be responsible for the quality assurance of Nexus — an internal tool that is transforming the way we conduct early model testing. You will validate Nexus functionality end-to-end, ensuring the platform delivers accurate, reliable, and reproducible results across catastrophe model workflows. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge science and modern software engineering, you will build deep expertise in both the Nexus platform and the early-stage model testing processes it enables. Responsibilities
- Design and build test automation frameworks tailored to Nexus’s early model testing pipelines
- Implement and expand automated testing practices throughout the Nexus development lifecycle
- Take ownership of a complete process from end to end
- Develop deep command of the Nexus platform, its architecture, and integration points with existing systems such as Touchstone, staying current with new technologies as they are adopted
- Prepare and present detailed test plans and milestones for Nexus features and early model testing workflows, ensuring full coverage of platform functionality, data integrity, and model output accuracy and be ready for intense peer reviews by cross functional teams
- Work with product managers on clarification of requirements and provide technical solutions and options to them.
- Understand the scope of Nexus platform feature updates, early model testing enhancements, and identify the scope of QA testing for each Nexus release
- Provide regular QA status updates to Nexus product owners and stakeholders, enabling transparency and informed decision-making on release readiness
- Collaborate with the Nexus development team and product owners to triage, prioritize, and drive timely resolution of defects
- Ensure that products meet requirements for accuracy and explicit and or implicit validation of scientific/ financial methodologies and author and present technical reports/documents of work
- Programming experience in developing with Visual Studios (preferable), C#.NET, C+, Java, Python, C VB/VBA/Powershell. Practical experience with designing automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver/Protractor/CodedUI/Silk etc.
- Hands-on experience with Behavior Driven Development techniques (Gherkin) and test automation tools (Silk4Net, MSTest, VSTest, Selenium etc.)
- Experience in SQL scripting, understanding the concept of relational databases, experience in using SQL query language to build and use queries for testing and data preparation purposes.
- Experience designing and implementing an object-oriented automation framework.
- Implement and/or expand use of automated testing practices throughout the SDLC
- Ability to communicate, collaborate and influence ideas within and outside of your immediate team
- Acquire and or demonstrate domain knowledge in the insurance domain and lead functional specification reviews.
- conducting internal training to the team and mentor junior members in a highly collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Engineering graduate degree or higher
- Our solutions are complex and computationally challenging and so we are looking for people with a 5- year track record of quality assurance in scientific or financial analytics software
- 5+ years of programming experience using any of the automation framework.
- Extensive experience in Object -oriented design and programming.
- Fluency in C#/.Net/Java/Powershell programming.
- Experience in Azure DevOps or on AWS.
- Support automated testing process by scoping and independently implementing or leading framework extension projects.
- Lead development of test harnesses to drastically improve productivity and reduce repetitive manual procedure by functional testers
- Ability to see the big picture/system understanding with capability/potential to dive into low level details to support problem isolation
- Logical and clear thinker having made sound process driven decisions
- Multitasking ability with focus on accuracy and efficiency
