Overview

The Response and conversation experiences (RCX) core team owns the user experience of the Microsoft 365 Copilot response across all surfaces, and we are on a mission to craft the next generation of AI‑first interaction patterns for millions of users. We design and deliver how Copilot reasons, responds, explains, cites and interact - ensuring that every Copilot experience is high quality, trustworthy and grounded.You will be part of a high agency, fast‑paced experimentation‑driven culture focused on raising the quality bar for AI responses, crafting new interaction paradigms, and shaping the user’s mental model for how Copilot behaves across the M365 ecosystem.RCX sits at the heart of the Microsoft 365 Copilot chat, we partner deeply with designers, engineers, applied scientists, user researchers, and platform teams across the company. Responsibilities

We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager with strong technical depth to own and evolve the UX platform, including customizations, extensibility for partner experiences, and a robust instrumentation & evaluation framework. You own the products and processes to improve agility, streamline engineering systems and release practices, and improve performance, reliability, and overall product quality.

What You’ll Do

• UX platform ownership: Define contracts, APIs, runtime controls and shared UX patterns that power Copilot across surfaces.
• UX extensibility : Land partner integrations across M365 apps, frameworks to add domain‑specific capabilities at scale
• Instrumentation & evaluation: Frameworks to ensure faster metrics onboarding, automated LLM based evaluations of UX quality.
• Performance & reliability : Measurably improve product performance, memory management and live site handling
• Agility: Own the products, tools, and processes to ensure faster experimentation.
  
  

Qualifications

Required

• 8+ years experience as a Technical product / program manager shipping platforms or large‑scale user experiences.
• Systems thinking, demonstrated technical depth in APIs, contracts, front end engineering, telemetry and performance fundamentals.
• Experience building extensibility frameworks (plugins, SDKs, component kits).
• Proven ability to design and operationalize product evaluation & instrumentation (quality metrics, automated gates, AB testing, scorecards).
• Strong track record of driving partner integrations at scale across multiple teams.

• Good understanding of JS frameworks like React, Angular, etc.
• Good understanding of client performance optimization techniques like caching and virtualization.
• Background in LLM‑powered products, ranking and quality systems.
