Senior Performance Testing Engineer - Assistant Manager

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Performance Testing Engineer with 8–10 years of strong, hands-on expertise in Micro Focus / OpenText LoadRunner. This role sits within the System Performance Testing function and requires a senior individual contributor who can independently lead end-to-end performance testing activities across complex, enterprise-scale applications, while collaborating closely with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure system scalability, stability, and reliability.

What You Will Be Responsible For

Performance Testing & Engineering

• Lead end-to-end performance testing lifecycle including requirements analysis, workload modelling, scripting, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
• Design and execute Load, Stress, Endurance, Spike, and Volume tests using LoadRunner.
• Develop and enhance scripts using LoadRunner VuGen with strong expertise in correlation, parameterisation, checkpoints, and rendezvous points.
• Define performance test strategy, test plans, and success criteria for complex applications.
• Execute tests using Controller and Load Generators across distributed environments.
  
  
  

Analysis & Reporting

• Perform in-depth performance analysis using LoadRunner Analysis.
• Identify performance bottlenecks across application, database, middleware, and infrastructure layers.
• Prepare detailed performance test reports, dashboards, and recommendations.
• Provide go / no-go recommendations based on performance outcomes.
  
  
  

Monitoring & Diagnostics

• Integrate LoadRunner tests with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic.
• Correlate test results with server-side metrics including CPU, memory, JVM / GC, database, and network.
• Participate in root cause analysis and performance tuning discussions.
  
  
  

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with development, architecture, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.
• Mentor junior performance testers and review scripts, executions, and analysis.
• Participate in design and architecture reviews from a performance perspective.
• Support production performance issues and tuning initiatives when required.

These Skills Will Help You Succeed In This Role

• Overall 7-9 years of experience in Testing.
• 5-6 years of experience in Performance / Non-Functional Testing.
• Strong hands-on expertise with LoadRunner (VuGen, Controller, Analysis).
• Experience testing Web/HTTP, REST, and SOAP applications.
• Strong scripting skills in C and JavaScript.
• Experience with performance engineering concepts and best practices.
• Experience with Dynatrace or similar APM tools; JMeter exposure is a plus.
• Strong understanding of JVM concepts, garbage collection, and databases (SQL, pooling, latency).
• Good knowledge of Linux / Unix commands and networking fundamentals.
• Experience testing applications hosted on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git) and pipeline integration.
• Experience in BFSI, Retail, E‑commerce, or Telecom domains is an added advantage
• Experience with performance testing of high‑transaction, mission‑critical systems is a plus
