About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to build and support backend services on a cloud-based data platform. The platform assembles and delivers structured data to internal systems and external partners, and runs in a regulated healthcare environment where accuracy, security, and traceability are as important as delivery speed.

This is a hands-on senior role. You will own work end to end — design, implementation, testing, and production support — and be expected to make sound technical decisions with limited supervision.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain Java backend services and integrations.
• Build and harden secure data exchange with external destinations, including credential handling, retry behavior, and delivery confirmation.
• Work with AWS services in production, including compute, storage, messaging, and secrets management.
• Write clear SQL and work with relational data models to support new features and troubleshooting.
• Write unit and integration tests; participate actively in code review.
• Diagnose production issues using logs and monitoring tools, and drive durable fixes rather than one-off patches.
• Contribute to technical documentation and runbooks.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies — grooming, estimation, and sprint planning — and help break larger initiatives into deliverable stories.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on Java (Java 11 or later).
• Solid experience with Spring / Spring Boot.
• Production experience building and operating services on AWS.
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases (Oracle preferred).
• Experience with file-based and/or message-driven integrations — batch processing, queues, or event-driven services.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Maven or Gradle.
• Demonstrated ability to debug production issues independently.
• Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable working with non-engineering stakeholders and distributed teams.
