Senior DevOps Platform Engineer

We are recruiting a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer for a Canadian technology opportunity.

We are looking for an experienced engineering professional with 7+ years of overall IT experience, including 3+ years of hands-on Azure experience, and strong expertise across DevOps, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, automation, and site reliability.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: This role requires candidates to be available during Canadian business hours and have 3+ years of hands-on Azure experience. Strong experience with Azure, Terraform, and Git is essential.

About the Role

In this role, you will design, implement, automate, and maintain scalable cloud and platform infrastructure. You will work closely with software engineering, security, data, and technology teams to improve deployment processes, platform capabilities, system reliability, and operational efficiency.

You will also contribute to technical architecture, production operations, automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement. The role includes mentoring engineers and helping establish reliable engineering practices across cloud and platform environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Build and manage cloud platforms using infrastructure as code.
• Work with Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized workloads.
• Develop automation using Terraform, scripting, and other DevOps tools.
• Use Git and modern version-control practices to manage infrastructure and application code.
• Improve system reliability, availability, scalability, and performance.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices.
• Support production environments and participate in incident investigation and resolution.
• Collaborate with software engineering, security, data engineering, and architecture teams.
• Improve developer experience through automation, self-service platforms, and standardized deployment processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure efficiency, security, reliability, and operational processes.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to technical standards and best practices.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• 7+ years of overall IT experience, preferably in a similar DevOps / Platform Engineering role.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure — REQUIRED.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure, Terraform, and Git — REQUIRED.
• Strong experience with DevOps practices, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized workloads.
• Strong experience with Terraform, infrastructure as code, scripting, and automation tools.
• Experience with Git/version control and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Availability to work Canadian business hours — REQUIRED.
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
• A passion for continuous learning in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
