SAP Security Consultant – Production Support (P1/P2 Tickets)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP Security Consultant to provide production support for critical SAP environments, with a strong focus on handling P1 and P2 priority incidents. The role requires deep expertise in SAP Security and Authorizations, user access management, role design, compliance controls, and troubleshooting authorization-related production issues within SLA timelines.

The consultant will work closely with business users, BASIS, functional teams, audit/compliance teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure secure and uninterrupted business operations across SAP systems.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support & Incident Management

• Handle P1 and P2 priority tickets related to SAP Security and Authorizations.
• Analyze and resolve critical access and authorization issues within defined SLA/KPI timelines.
• Perform impact analysis, prioritization, and escalation management for high-severity incidents.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring security incidents and recommend preventive measures.
• Coordinate with BASIS, functional, GRC, audit, and business teams during major incident resolution.
  
  

SAP Security & Authorization Support

• Manage and support user administration activities, including:
• User creation, modification, lock/unlock, and deletion
• Password resets and access troubleshooting
• Role and profile assignment
• User validity and access reviews
• Troubleshoot and resolve authorization issues across SAP modules and transactions.
• Analyze SU53, ST01, SUIM, PFCG, and related security transactions to identify and fix access issues.
• Support single, composite, and derived roles as per business and compliance requirements.
• Maintain role menus, authorization objects, and access controls.
  

Role Design & Access Management

• Support design, modification, and maintenance of SAP roles and authorizations.
• Ensure role changes are aligned with Segregation of Duties (SoD), audit, and compliance requirements.
• Support emergency access / firefighter access processes where applicable.
• Assist with periodic user access reviews and remediation activities.
  
  

Required Skills

• 6–8 years of experience in SAP Security and Authorizations
• Strong experience in production support and handling P1/P2 tickets
  
  

Hands-on Expertise In

• PFCG role maintenance
• User administration
• Authorization troubleshooting
• Role design and role modification
• SU53, ST01, SUIM analysis
• Strong knowledge of:
• Single, composite, and derived roles
• Authorization objects and profile generation
• User access management lifecycle
• Segregation of Duties (SoD) concepts
• Experience in resolving critical production access issues within SLA timelines
• Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow
  

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related discipline
