SAP SD Consultant – Production Support (P1/P2 Tickets)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP SD Consultant to provide production support for critical business operations and manage P1 and P2 priority incidents. The role requires strong functional expertise in Sales and Distribution (SD), with the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve high-priority issues within defined SLA timelines.

The consultant will work closely with business users, cross-functional teams, and technical teams to ensure smooth execution of order-to-cash processes, minimize business disruption, and maintain system stability.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support & Incident Management

• Handle P1 and P2 priority tickets related to SAP SD and ensure timely resolution as per SLA.
• Perform incident analysis, impact assessment, prioritization, and escalation management.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and recommend preventive actions.
• Coordinate with ABAP, BASIS, MM, FI, WM/EWM, and integration teams for issue resolution.
• Support business users during critical production issues and provide timely status updates.
  
  

SAP SD Functional Support

• Provide support for core SAP SD processes, including:
• Sales Order Management
• Delivery Processing
• Billing and Invoicing
• Pricing and Discounts
• Credit Management
• Returns Processing
• Customer Master Data
• Output Determination
• Partner Determination
• Copy Controls
• Troubleshoot issues in the order-to-cash cycle and ensure continuity of business operations.
• Analyze and resolve issues related to sales documents, deliveries, billing blocks, pricing determination, and account assignment.
  

Configuration & Enhancement Support

• Perform minor configuration changes based on business requirements and approved change requests.
• Prepare functional specifications for custom developments and enhancements.
• Work with ABAP teams to validate fixes for reports, forms, interfaces, and custom objects.
• Support testing, defect resolution, and transport validation across environments.
  
  

Integration Support

• Support integration between SAP SD and other modules, especially:
• MM for material and shipping-related processes
• FI for billing and accounting integration
• WM/EWM for warehouse and delivery execution
• PP where sales and planning dependencies exist
• Resolve issues involving IDOCs, interfaces, outputs, and third-party system integrations.
  

Documentation & Compliance

• Document incident resolutions, RCA reports, known errors, and workarounds.
• Maintain support documentation and contribute to the internal knowledge base.
• Follow ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Ensure compliance with business controls and support standards.
  
  

Required Skills

• 6–8 years of experience in SAP SD functional consulting/support
• Strong experience in production support and handling P1/P2 tickets
• Strong knowledge of SAP SD processes, including:
• Sales Order Processing
• Delivery and Shipping
• Billing
• Pricing
• Customer Master
• Returns
• Credit Management
• Hands-on experience in issue analysis, troubleshooting, and functional testing
• Good understanding of order-to-cash business processes
• Strong knowledge of cross-functional integration with MM, FI, and WM/EWM
• Experience using ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience in SAP S/4HANA SD support environment
• Exposure to Fiori applications related to sales and billing
• Knowledge of EDI/IDOC interfaces and output management
• Familiarity with revenue recognition and advanced ATP concepts
• Understanding of ITIL support processes
  
  

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related discipline
