Technical Business Analyst

Role Snapshot

• Position: Technical Business Analyst
• Experience: 7+ years overall, with a minimum of 3 years in a Business Analyst / Product Owner role
• Education: B.E. in Computer Science (mandatory) + MBA (mandatory)
• Certification: CSPO (active or previously held; minimum one year old)
• Work Hours: Flexibility to extend up to 11:00 PM / 11:30 PM IST when business needs require
  
  

Role Overview

We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst who can bridge business intent and technical execution with equal confidence. The role demands a true product mindset — someone who can sit across the table from business heads and CXOs to elicit requirements, translate them into clear user stories and wireframes, and partner with engineering to deliver high-quality outcomes. The ideal candidate brings a balance of consulting polish, hands-on technical orientation, and the discipline of having operated inside a product company.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders, including business heads and CXO-level leaders, to understand strategic priorities and translate them into clear, actionable requirements.
• Author crisp BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product backlogs; own grooming, prioritization, and sprint readiness.
• Design wireframes, mockups, and low-fidelity prototypes to communicate intent across business and engineering teams.
• Partner with developers, architects, QA, and UX to ensure features are built right and built on time; act as the single point of truth on scope and intent.
• Drive product discovery, user research, and competitive analysis to shape roadmaps with a strong product mindset.
• Work alongside data engineering teams on requirements that span Data Warehouse and Data Lake ecosystems, ensuring source-to-consumption traceability.
• Collaborate on visualization and reporting needs, defining KPIs, dashboards, and self-service analytics expectations.
• Conduct UAT planning, demo sessions, and stakeholder walkthroughs; capture feedback and convert it into the next iteration.
  
  

Must-Have Qualifications

Education

• B.E. in Computer Science (non-negotiable).

• MBA from a recognized institution (non-negotiable).
  
  

Experience

• 7+ years of total professional experience.
• Minimum 3 years as a Business Analyst or Product Owner.
• At least 1 year in a product company in a similar BA / PO capacity.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with business stakeholders, including business heads and CXOs.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Comfortable reading and working with at least one programming language.
• Working knowledge of HTML and PHP.
• Hands-on experience or strong exposure to a visualization tool, preferably Power BI.
• Ability to create wireframes using tools such as Figma, Balsamiq, Axure, or equivalent.
• Fair understanding of Data Warehouse and Data Lake concepts (modeling, layers, ingestion, consumption).
  
  

Certification

• CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) — active certification, OR previously held with at least one year of post-certification experience.
  
  

Behavioural & Mindset

• Strong product mindset — thinks in terms of outcomes, users, and value, not just features.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to hold their own in CXO conversations.
• Flexibility to work extended hours up to 11:00 PM / 11:30 PM IST when business engagements demand.
  
  

Good to Have

• Exposure to any cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Services, Synapse, Fabric, ADF).
• Experience with Agile delivery at scale (SAFe, LeSS) and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence.
• Familiarity with API-first design and integration patterns.
• Prior consulting or pre-sales exposure in the Data & Analytics space.
