Position Summary

We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer III to join our team at Phenom. We are expecting the below capabilities to fulfill this role:

Capable of building accurate machine learning models

Strong foundation in Linear Algebra, Applied Statistics, and Probability

Experience in building data models and data algorithms

Detailed understanding of NLP

Hands-on experience with Generative AI (GenAI) models and AI Agents (Autonomous/Conversational Agents)

Good understanding of multithreaded and object-oriented software development

Strong mathematical foundation (Mathematics, Mathematics, and Mathematics)

Collaborate with Data Engineers to prepare data models required for machine learning models

Collaborate with product teams to apply state-of-the-art AI methods including dialogue systems, NLP, information retrieval, recommendation systems, and GenAI-driven solutions

Build large-scale software systems and work on numerical computation topics

Use predictive analytics and data mining to solve complex problems and drive business decisions

Mentor more than one MLE I

What You’ll Do

Design and implement machine learning, information extraction, probabilistic matching algorithms, and models

Research and develop innovative, scalable, and dynamic solutions to complex problems

Develop and optimize GenAI-powered applications and AI Agents (e.g., conversational AI, copilots, automation agents)

Work closely with Machine Learning Scientists (PhDs), ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers

• Use the latest advances in NLP, data science, machine learning, and Generative AI to enhance products and create new experiences
• Scale machine learning algorithms powering our platform to support growing customer data and usage
• Be a key contributor in shaping the future of our products and services
• Collaborate with Product Management and cross-functional teams
• Be part of a fast-paced, fun-focused, agile team
  
  

What You’ve Done

4-6 years of industry experience

PhD/MS/BTech in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field

Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and data analytics

Solid coding and engineering skills with a focus on Machine Learning

Proficient in Java, Python, and Scala

Proven experience building and productionizing end-to-end ML systems

• Hands-on experience with Generative AI (LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, etc.) and AI Agents frameworks
• Knowledge of Information Extraction, NLP algorithms, and Deep Learning
• Experience with data processing and storage frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
