Job Summary
The position manages the corporate tax compliance, tax planning, and tax accounting function for TriNets India-based subsidiary and supports the US corporate tax compliance and accounting function.
Essential Duties/Responsibilites
Assist in management, preparation and review of consolidated federal, multi-state separate and unitary, and local corporate tax returns, related workpapers, extensions and estimated payments accurately and in accordance with internal deadlines
Maintain tax calendar encompassing all tax filings (forms, payments, returns, etc.) and ensure timely and accurate compliance with all tax deadlines
Assist with information and analysis as well as compilation and review to enable timely and accurate responses to Federal and State notices and audit requests
Manage India tax compliance including return preparation and review as well as responding to notices from relevant taxing authorities
Ensure compliance with SOX controls
Oversee indirect tax filing process such as GST, property, sales and use tax
Oversee monthly GL account analyses including reconciling income tax, property and sales tax accounts
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments
Perform research on complex tax issues
Assist and develop staff tax accountants
Respond to internal and external customers in a timely and effective manner
Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and experience - required
General education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training
Chartered Accountant (mandatory) - required
Work Experience
Typically 10+ years - required
Typically 3+ years managing a team within tax - required
Experience working with colleagues in different time zones - required
Experience in a progressive accounting environment for a Fortune 1000 size company and/or medium or larger public accounting firm with high volume transactions and a disciplined close process preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Upon Hire - preferred
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Understanding of tax priniciples in addition to accounting and business procedures
Ability to perform tax research and effectively communicate (written and verbal) income tax accounting and compliance issues
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Experience with RIA Checkpoint, OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, and/or Oracle ERP a plus
A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities
Knowledge of current accounting principles, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
Strong analytical, research, and accounting skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Proficient knowledge of tax research and compliance resources and tools
