DESCRIPTION

Amazon Transportation Controllership Audit team is an operation finance team that controls Amazons transportation cost. This is achieved through strengthening internal & external systems by working closely with multiple internal stakeholders such as Operations, Procurement, Technology groups and external stakeholders such as carriers. Audit Team also works closely with Accounts Payable for payments to carriers and Finance team for financial data reporting.

The Controllership Audit Team is looking for a Risk Manager III who will own large scale projects to improve processes ,drive compliance and insist high standards on how we operate. This is an IC role.

Key job responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize potential risks across the organization.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Own the annual strategic planning cycles OP1/OP2 in partnership with senior leaders. Drive key reporting mechanisms inclusive of business reviews.
  • Develop a knowledge of the operational processes and controls in place that supports 3P carrier invoice auditing.
  • Work with audit team on policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls.
  • Monitoring, and reporting with the goal of improving efficiencies, compliance policies, and risk management.
  • Influence leaders and teams across teams ,challenging proposed solutions while advocating for the customers.
  • Challenge assumptions of why a process or mechanism failed,ask the questions to get to the root cause of the problem and work for a solve.
  • Establish and cultivate a strong working relationship with multiple teams across Amazon to drive process improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience.
  • 2+ years of regulatory and risk management experience.
  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience.
  • 2+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience.
  • MBA or equivalent from a reputed/Tier I B school.

Graduation in engineering/Math/Statistics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent.
  • Six Sigma black belt.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
  • 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
  • Masters degree or equivalent
